I agree the wording is a bit harsh. But this launch just isn't good, no matter where the problem lies. JC is betting long term, he will claim that he expects sales to pick up once his channel is supplied etc etc.... But I just don't like to see them go backwards. Not when you're claiming that every aspect of your business has bottomed.
    I agree with you.

I have this amazing idea... we will know what sell through really looks like... when they tell us. Until then do we really have anything substantial to go on? No. Keep calm beer on. It's Friday after all

What do you mean THIS launch ? They have failed at every launch since BB10 was released.

Z10 launch was done right. But the OS wasn't ready and it got killed in the reviews. Of course the app gap didn't help.

Nah, Z10 launch was done right 'in comparison' to other BlackBerry launches in past 2 years. But as such even z10 launch was bad. But yeah, if Priv receives even z10 level of marketing effort, it'd cross 5million sales easy.

If the phone wasn't ready for launch, then by definition, the launch was done wrong.

Was waiting for a retort. I agree, don't launch if the device isn't ready...wasted money. They were trying to keep BlackBerry in the game before it was too late...gambled and lost. If the software was ready, it would have been a good launch.

My source close to the matter tells me that it's due to demand and there are no 'internal issues'. If they do give people a choice for carrier unlocks, it'll just be because some of those are available sooner.

So this is where we stand today with "tech journalism": a so-called BB news site reporting some other site's piece the Romanian-based writer of which has written so few articles on BB that you will be hard-pressed to find any (though you will find hundreds of Microsoft and Apple ones). Still, he claims that "Sources close to the matter tell us...". Everything is possible but, frankly, I'll take that one with a grain of salt.
