How does this help if you carry an iPhone to get the features BlackBerry doesn't have? Not sure I understand how a 2nd sim gets you that functionality is my question.

BNN - Watch TV Online | Despite mixed results, BlackBerry inches to profitability: CEO

BlackBerry revenue plunged unexpectedly in the third quarter, but the company managed to eke out a slight profit on an adjusted basis. BNN speaks with BlackBerry CEO John Chen about the company's move toward profitability, the success of the Passport launch and what investors should expect in 2015.

I'd like to file a complaint with our buddy, M+8! I had my limit order of $9.10 placed right before the market opened. I then read a comment that said to go check out some Passporn for 10 minutes. So naturally, I took his advice and cancelled my order and... ummm... Then I came back about 20 min later and placed the same order for $9.10 and the SP never came back down. Now we have all these big funds taking up new positions on big volume and I missed the boat to lower my average cost per share! What am I going to do now that this is a solid $10 stock again for a company with a massive and stable hoard of cash, and a roadmap that will take us much much higher in the days, weeks, months ahead? Thanks a lot Morgan!

Disclaimer: Since I won't be around for the rest of the day, I want to be crystal clear that the above comment is 100% sarcastic. Although I am comfortable following Morgan's advice blindly, I take full responsibility for my own decisions (or non-decisions). Cheers gang! What a day!

After the 6% plus drop this morning there had to have been some shorts taking profits. That combined with the excellent buying opportunity will drive the stock back up.

"It's a number that obviously, to us, is not satisfying," Chief Executive Officer John Chen said on a conference call, noting that the focus has been on margins and cash flow. "We achieved that, but now we're going to turn our attention to revenue."

Chen said hardware sales in the quarter were weaker than expected as production was limited and the company could only fulfill all device orders early in the fourth quarter.

At an analyst conference in San Francisco last month, Chen had said revenue could slide faster than expected as its sales profile changes.

Colin Gillis, an analyst at BGC Partners in New York, said Chen did a good job controlling expenses .

"The fact that he overachieved by turning cash flow positive this quarter - that's a great milestone," said Gillis."It gets easier from here."
I like those statements, could not have said better.

Whether they work for the WSJ, the G&M, The Street, The Fool, etc. most of those guys are hopeless.

I don't recall a single fairly unbiased article over the last 12 months on what BBRY is actually trying to achieve here, ie transforming itself. And most of them still dont "get it".

Having read more than my share of articles/reviews over the last few years, I am convinced of one thing: if BlackBerry is to turn itself around and become successful again, it will have to do so without the media (and the analysts). Or despite it/them, rather.

To me, the best thing BlackBerry has going for it is John Chen who performs generally very well in one-on-one interviews or in small gatherings.

Is there somewhere we can get revenues derived from SAF? If so can someone post Q2 SAF revenues and Q3 SAF revenues.

Can we attribute the entire drop of 138 million to SAF? If that's the case then my estimate is that Blackberry lost 10 million legacy users. gained 1.9 million bb10 users. for a loss of approximately 8 million users this past quarter.

i'd really like to see the user base stabilise.

This will depend if bbry deems the risks of the sale (Ie: likelihood of cash conversion) were transferred to the buyer during q3 or q4.

If you could order a Passport through Digital River and cancel before delivery then they wouldn't have recognized the sale until shipped (ie FOB shipping point)
You couldn't cancel DR orders. Only way was to refuse delivery.

Yep. The JC stability factor is key.

The market/analysts/general public had a reason (I suppose) to throw out their stupid comments because the company was all over the place.

JC has taken away the irrational mindset. In fact, the whole executive team has done well this past year.

    Look out 2015 and onward!

No longer a 'scary' ride....instead a fun and "uplifting" ride!!!
