- So..... upset!!
So.... pissed!!
Last year, when all my savings were riding on BlackBerry.. I didn't sell despite several opportunities to sell in green and eventually all options expired worthless.
This year.. I SOLD $10.80 mark, hoping to buy back at dip. But this keeps going and going! The only time I SELL, and the stock decides to just rise and rise.
Tomorrow, it'd rise again after JC rocks the room with some amazing announcements .. maybe short squeeze after the announcement. And I'd be sitting at the sidelines.
Sure, I could take another risk and buy again at super high premium but I don't have the stomach for it. I want to buy at dip.. which may never come!

You might get your chance to buy it back again. Unless the company puts out some spectacular news tomorrow, the stock has risen from below $ 8.75/shr to $ 11.50/shr in just 4 weeks. It will be overbought short-term when it makes a new 52-week high. Fully 90% of stocks that breakout of a range trade back down to support to confirm that move. You can sell some naked puts and get back into this play which is what I do a lot, or, just wait it out until the stock becomes a TA buy again.
You sold at a TA point, it didn't work out for you as this rally had some legs, but it is closing in on OB and resistance so keep that in mind and calculate a good point of entry down the road.11-12-14 12:47 PMLike 14 - Superfly_FRRetired Moderator

BlackBerry options active ahead of San Francisco event (Thomson Reuters)
By Saqib Iqbal Ahmed
NEW YORK, Nov 12 (Reuters) - Options on BlackBerry Ltd's U.S.-listed shares attracted a surge of bullish activity on Wednesday, a day before the Canadian tech firm is scheduled to host an event in San Francisco where it is expected to shine a light on its strategy for serving big clients.
Industry sources expect BlackBerry to outline tie-ups with carriers and service providers that will be co-marketing its BlackBerry Enterprise platform, and will watch the event to get clues to how the company plans to kick-start revenue growth.
BlackBerry's U.S.-listed shares, which have risen 24 percent since the middle of October, were up 3 percent on Wednesday at$11.30, less than 3 percent away from its year-high of $11.65 in July.
On Wednesday, calls made up a bulk of the options volume on BlackBerry with the puts-to-calls ratio at about 0.22:1, close to the lowest it has been this year, according to Trade Alert data.
A lower put-to-call ratio typically indicates a more bullish outlook on a stock.
BlackBerry's total options volume on Wednesday was at 61,000 contracts traded by 3:30 p.m. ET (2030 GMT). BlackBerry calls volume was at more than 50,000, which is twice the average daily volume for the options over the last month.
The most popular options were calls betting on the shares touching $11.50 by the end of the week and calls for the stock to be at or above $11 by Jan. 17.
Option players appeared to be looking more for an upside move in the shares than to the downside, said Al Sherbin, chief market strategist at Al on Options LLC.
The cost of a BlackBerry straddle on Wednesday, in which an investor buys an at-the-money put option and a similar call option, suggests a move of about 4 percent in the stock in either direction by Friday. (Reporting by Saqib Iqbal Ahmed; Editing by Lisa Shumaker)

11-12-14 03:44 PMLike 7 - BlackBerry Ltd?s BES 12 launch marks next step in turnaround effort ? but is it too late? | Financial Post
BlackBerry Ltd.’s latest offering is a software far more crucial than its new smartphones to the Canadian technology company’s future as it pivots its focus from consumer devices toward software and services for enterprise clients.
The Waterloo, Ont.-based smartphone maker is launching the latest version of its BlackBerry Enterprise Services technology, also known as BES 12, and holding its investor day in San Francisco on Thursday.
Unlike previous versions of this software, the newest iteration allows companies to manage older devices running on the BB7 and BB10 operating platforms as well as rival devices running software from Apple Inc., Google Inc. and Microsoft Corp.
This launch is key for BlackBerry as it looks to software like BES 12 and services to drive revenue growth and make up for the steep decline in high-margin service revenue it once enjoyed from older devices.
However, rolling out BES 12 so late in the year means BlackBerry missed an opportunity to lock in potential customers who were upgrading over the summer and fall, said Mike Walkley, managing director of Canaccord Genuity.
“It seems like they’ve missed opportunities already… The longer it is taking to get out to the market has meant missed opportunities for more service customers switching to new platforms in the intermediate term,” he said.
BlackBerry used to be the dominant player for business mobility, but it has lost market share over the years to competitors as more enterprises allow employees to bring their own devices, such as Samsung Galaxy handsets or Apple’s iPhones, to work.
Meanwhile, as BlackBerry looks to double down on the enterprise, it is facing several competitors in the mobile device management space including Good, Mobile Iron and AirWatch.
BlackBerry chief executive John Chen told the Financial Post in a recent interview that the company — which was in the midst of restructuring over the past year — needed time to develop a “great” product.
“We can’t turn out a BES product, just to be quote unquote early. We just have to compete,” Mr. Chen said. “I will never turn out a knowingly bad product. I don’t have any concerns. I think the product will speak for itself.”
The timing of the BES 12 release is “critical,” said Maynard Um, equity analyst with Wells Fargo in New York in a note to clients.
“While we expect management to be upbeat with regard to the new product launch, we believe understanding how quickly the product can ramp up from new pilots to full-scale commercial roll-outs will be crucial,” he said.
Mr. Chen and his team will be facing more questions about the rollout of BES 12, as well as their roadmap for the next 12 months, from analysts and shareholders during its investor day held after the launch.
Manash Goswami, portfolio manager at First Asset Investment Management, which owns shares of BlackBerry, says he will be looking for specific details on how the company’s new products will make up for the lost high-margin service revenue, which has been dropping between 10% and 15% each quarter.
He wants to know “what they think the take up is going to be, and to kind of get a sense for how big this could be,” said Mr. Goswami. “I still think it’s a ‘show me’ story. And we need to see it put into place.”11-12-14 04:12 PMLike 7 -
- This is a section of the FedScoop article, does it sound like it might be announced tomorrow? Also does it sound like the passport?
" Halvorsens use of the word somewhat was a deliberate choice. While the department is moving to accommodate the computing needs of a new workforce, it still must maintain a high level of security and control over what is allowed on the network. And some progress has been made. This week, for example, the department plans to release the first secure mobile phone for use by combatant commanders. It will allow them to access email and conduct clear voice calls, as well as read and send faxes. The next major update to this capability is scheduled for January 2015. - See more at: http://fedscoop.com/inside-halvorsen-strategy-cheaper-capable-info-sharing-dod#sthash.yiNmJiGj.dpuf."11-12-14 04:37 PMLike 0 -
My humble contribution to this thread is to keep investment simple, not complicate it with too much data and to jump in there with some of my impressions of what "might" happen next. I don't want to pump a trade, and I don't want others to blindly think this is in any way easy. Patience and homework are the keys to beating the system and hopefully I show that in my posts. Don't know if I answered your question but the takeaway in all of this is to see as many CB members as possible, making money owning BBRY stock, using this venue.
Cheers to all of us for our unity in this thread.11-12-14 05:03 PMLike 15 - Four Reasons Online Meeting Apps are about to get Disrupted | | Inside BlackBerry for Business Blog
"Opportunity for Disruption
If you start with mobile, you have all the advantages of this newer, more flexible platform, and none of the disadvantages of having to retrofit a solution designed for desktop.
The mobile collaboration space is begging for a better solution. Weve been using the same solutions for over a decade. Its time to innovate for mobile. This Thursday, look for us to announce something for enterprises that is innovative AND mobile-first."11-12-14 05:28 PMLike 12 -
Didn't those same people who were looking to upgrade over the summer do the EZ pass who can now switch over to bes12? Is that the same Canaccord who has a foolish and biased $6 price target?

BlackBerry's latest fans? Deep-pocketed investors
https://www.google.ca/url?sa=t&rct=j...I9dPzb_iaRZoUQ
As BlackBerry Ltd. CEO John Chen prepares to unveil his strategy for winning back enterprise customers Thursday, it appears he’s already satisfied two sets of shareholders: Hedge funds and long-term institutional investors.
The hedgies appear to have profited handsomely by betting the company’s turmoil of a year ago was not immediately life-threatening, and that its stock would rebound from multi-year lows. Regulatory filings show that, amid the company’s scotched sale process and the arrival of Mr. Chen – an accomplished turnaround specialist – several big name hedge funds piled into the stock last fall and winter, buying millions of shares a piece. Buyers included Steve Cohen’s SAC Capital Advisors (now known as Point72 Asset Management) activist manager Dan Loeb’s Third Point, the U.K.’s David Leone & Partners, Josh Resnick’s Jericho Capital Advisors, D. E Shaw & Co and Keywise Capital Management Ltd. of Hong Kong.11-12-14 05:44 PMLike 12 - G&M:
