This applies to BIS right? Not BB10

    Posted via CB10
Looks to be more like incentives to use BB10?

"Paul Omorogbe and Seyi Sokoya, reporting on Nigerian Tribune, says that in Nigeria, many Android users are reverting to BlackBerry devices due to the high data subscription costs on Android.

    For more:

Nigerian Tribune: BringBackOurBlackBerrys: Why Nigerians are returning to their BBs... According to the report, this time around, the BlackBerry 10 series seems to be the popular choice. The report states that the gap between the data available for Android subscription compared to BlackBerry at the same cost is quite big.

Currently, among all the networks, N1,000 subscription valid for one month barely attracts up to 400MB - even with all the bonus data some networks offer. For N1,000, Glo provides 350MB, and MTN 260MB. In comparison, BlackBerry subscriptions reportedly average 1GB on most networks. Airtel offers up to 2GB, Glo offers 3GB, and MTN offers the least at 350MB for N1000 monthly. Yet, it's still more than what it offers for Android at the same cost."

    Guess who . . . .

"At the same time, the world's biggest tech companies are betting big on commercial drone use. Facebook (NASDAQ: FB) dropped $20 million on UK-based aerospace company Ascenta in March, and Google (NASDAQ: GOOG) purchased drone-maker Titan Aerospace for $60 million in April."

The better to steal your stuff my dear!

I think Morgan pointed this out some time last year, when everyone was convinced they were going to bleed too much cash.

Nice to see the analysts finally cottoning on.

Someone, please remind me, why do they get paid?

FYI just had a few more info about BBM Protected, in particular :
    - yes it'll be supported under BES Cloud
    - about BBM Protected for consumers :
We're focused first on providing this additional encryption to our enterprise customers who are highly security conscious and in regulated industries, and then we will continue to evaluate future products in the eBBM Suite.

Under most popular post and general, majority of the times, first 2 or 3 threads are always ruled by known clever BlackBerry bashers.
But today, some one posted why bb10 is better. Lol.
The post is so long that most bashers don't know how to respond, some said that there should be limit to long posts. Lol. I gotta admit that this guy did his homework.

BlackBerry Z3 Extremely Well Received In Key Emerging Markets

BlackBerry Z3 ?Extremely Well Received? In Key Emerging Markets
Obviously not "well received" enough to publish the numbers. This is just CEO speak for making things look better than they are, yet remaining sufficiently vague to not be untrue regardless of the situation.

Perhaps...or, they really are selling well. I know a very diligent researcher (brilliant guy) who bought a Z3 to see how it stacks up against other "high end" devices. Reports are that he really likes it...no 5g wifi but for that price point 2.5g is just fine. Battery blows away the others in even the next couple categories up too.

CrackBerry reported initial stock in India was around 25K - 30K when they started reporting shortages and sell outs. That was also pretty close to what one importer site had listed for the Z3 coming in from China. Maybe that is great?

His words are often carefully nuanced.

An "extremely good quarter" could mean 3 million devices sold through to end customers (last quarter: 2,6 million) while revenue is recognized on 2 million devices (last quarter: 1,6 million).

You could then claim it's silly to speak of a succesful quarter with such low volumes, but it would have a tremendous impact on the bottom line & the media would sell the story as well IMO. It's just an example of course, we'll only know when we see the figures.
