Yes, that's been hard to miss, but that's not the amnesia I was talking about. I was referring to a series of extended exchanges regarding BlackBerry's 'roots' in which I was roundly and soundly pilloried as the village fool. No need to go on and on. The data are overwhelming.

As for Chen, I think he's been quite right to downplay BlackBerry's interest in the device market. I would have thought that folks in here would be better able to see Chen's PR efforts for what they are though.

I think Chen is doing a great job in this regard, but any serious person can see that BlackBerry want back into the device game badly. Of course they do. While Chen is asking people to look the other way, BlackBerry are busting their backsides to get their device game in order, whether they wish to announce it publicly or not.

BlackBerry have been, and still are, a device company. They are branching out into new areas, and that is excellent, but they aren't dumb. They know what will happen if they can sell phones again, and they'll be gunning for that while pretending that they aren't.

You might be onto something here. The Amazon phone will flop at its price. But their firefly buying software has huge potential. But apple might not allow it in its phones without taking a cut of the action. And android phones by Google might want a copy of the information. BlackBerry might allow firefly in a basically clean form.

Indeed, I share your feeling. But in this case, I suspect he was refering to the fact that AMZN likes the BB10 client base. Could be wrong... He did say that they had been talking for a while. JC sure has good connections and I am glad he is steering this ship.

BB Playbooks are so inexpensive, we have them in all of our cars and a boat, the Passport would be a great upgrade for those dated Playbooks. As long as you have the same features, i.e., mini-HDMI and some decent storage along with a good processor, this would work fine for several purposes. Imagine your upgraded "Playbook" with BB 10.3 Plus on it, nice!

Well, it would be rather interesting to see Amazon phones running BB10. The app situation would be something to watch too. I still would rather BlackBerry 10 stay on BlackBerrys though, if I'm honest.
