I can't recall the exact commentary, but something about his commentary or calculation and Chen left him stumped. It was funny.

What I didn't understand or didn't come out quite clear:

Is this net income all operational or did it include "special effects" such as the big sell of their real estate and the tax refund?

The cash burn didn't include these items is what I think he said.

BBM growth is a bit of a concern. Seems to have flat lined. Expecting to hit 100M users by 2016 is too long imo.

Listen to the last questions posed to Chen, it doesn't include real estate sales or tax refunds, it is solely an operational profit.

Even that analyst had a hard time with the profit numbers, it's that good.

The cash burn is concerning the structure of the balance sheet! But I'm not interested in the structure I want to know if the included it in the profitability score!!

I don't worry about bbm numbers not growing rapidly. I would rather have a small base that generates high revs rather than huge base that is free.

    Both wouldn't be so bad.

That is still awful growth. Hopefully by the end of the year, BBM will be more stable and we won't see so many people downloading, trying, then dumping as they get fed up with it. I might very well be the only one, but I'm bleeding contacts, and it's all due to the same problems. I'm extremely happy that other aspects of the company are turning around, and am very optimistic about device sales going forward...we just need to see the BBM pillar stop wobbling, and it really is all good.

My wife had been asking me "are you sure about your decision to put so much on BBRY?", my responds were "I don't really know for sure!". But maybe now I can say "YES!"

BlackBerry's Four Biggest Flops of All Time

June 19 (Bloomberg) -- BlackBerry reported a narrower-than-estimated loss today, thanks to cost cuts and asset sales. The once-dominant company has had a tough time in the past few years, losing market share to rivals Apple and Samsung. Bloomberg Ranx looks at some of BlackBerry's biggest flops. (Source: Bloomberg)

I should have said 100M active BBM users. Chen said they have 160M registered BBM users.
