Really man? C'mon. Many are down right now and you shouldn't really need to take a jab like that.

I actually got caught out myself (by my own greed and in a minor way), so I'm 'nailed' as well - I'm in two minds - on the one hand, I think you are right, on the other - I dunno? Do we just pretend that predictions never occurred? Go silent when it's red? That's not a trick question, I'm not sure what the answer is.

I hear ya but it seemed to be delivered as more of a jab... at least as I read it. The market overall looks like **** right now and to have a post like that to read seems a little cold... also, seeing as the majority of your posts are from a bearish stance, that's first way someone here would take it. I don't have any here and am thankful for that but I wouldn't come in and say "well.... so much for those bullish predictions". I just don't think it would be in good form.

Well, other than going back to discussing the fundamental of the company, what is there to say, when a stock acts on the outer range of the opposite bullish projection? Some of us have been riding this for quite some time now.

About the golden cross, it did occur, and can still be sustainable. The SP needs to start going above $10, so MA50 picks up its pace above MA200 again.

At least, we have this thread to exchange ideas.

News always trumps TA. Golden cross or not, the news cycle and ER wasn't all that great and the market in general is off recently. It would be a great sign for any stock that could rally in this market, but BBRY isn't and TA won't be the reason for or against it right now. BBRY isn't alone on this point right now.

I'm going to compare Line's numbers with BBM's and hastily draw some conclusions.

Lines revenue expanded more than tenfold last year to $545 million

$18.2 billion of Navers market cap is the implied value of Line.

Nomura estimates 210 million active users of Line and implies a value of $87 for each user

Line is valued at more than 33 times sales
Now I'll attribute a very modest revenue stream to BBM and apply a similar valuation:

Revenue of $5 million per month or $60 million per annum and a valuation at 33 times sales = $2 billion valuation.

2 billion valuation divided by 85 million active users (last known number) = $23 per user

    Line: $87 per user

    Whatsapp: $42 per user

    BlackBerry: $23 per user
It wouldn't take a huge increase in BBM revenue to bump these numbers.

I've been 'on the patio' for the better part of the day so feel free to correct my assumptions.

    I believe it's 25,000 @ $8, so $200k

But still agree, not too telling.

They are become commodities. Sure one phone may be faster or bigger or smaller or have a longer battery or whatever, but devices are becoming ubiquitous. BBRY was just one of the first to see it because they lost the cool factor sooner. Pick up just about any phone and you can get done what you need to do. Are consumers, esp at the lower levels, really going to pay much more for an extra hour of battery or a .5 sec faster response time or a slightly slicker interface?

The BBRY Foxcomm device is an acknowledgment and attempt to compete in this segment. I just hope BBRY can adjust on the fly like IBM had to do with the PC business when it became a commodity type business. Chen seems to get it. He also seems to get that what BBRY has going for it, above all else, is security. Unfortunately, as Misek pointed out on the conf call, while people really should be worried about that, they really don't seem to be. At least not yet......

Indirectly it is telling us, at least me, that he confident.
