Seems to me that unless BlackBerry brings a Jakarta level phone to North America that many of the discount carriers won't be carrying them. Many businesses will claim not to work with them and BlackBerry is for the prosummer.

Flat design and "modern" ... Back in the Windows 3.1 times, you mean (my "taste and colors" perception)
Superfly, it's not that easy. It's not about you or me liking flat designs. But I'm getting the impression that more and more people associate flat designs with "clean" and "modern". This trend is everywhere now and to be honest, there are good examples where minimalistic designs work very well. It's like it is. You can say but I don't think this should be the way for BB to deal with this trend, really.
I just don't want, that possible customers refuse BB10, because it looks somehow outdated... Sorry for my OT comment. I stop now. Promise!

Isn't "workers" a possible oxymoron in this instance? I mean if they were real workers they wouldn't be laid off?

Maybe employees would be a better term.

I feel sorry for anyone that loses their job. However, sometimes it is for the best for the employee in the long run. And, I hope that will be the case here.

I can't believe how low the volume has been lately. When this thing finally decides to make a move, either up or down, I think it could be a violently large and fast move.

Just a word about the layoffs; this is sad - and I feel sorry for "our" guys & gals - but it was planned, part of the plan. So, no additional news here, but an execution mark. We should see some more by May.

According to the statement, the layoffs were part of a 40 per cent workforce reduction announced in September 2013, with the reduction period ending in May 2014.

I have never owned a Q10. I have Z10 and now a Z30. I bought this Koodo Q5 as a spare as my daughter finally broke the screen on her modded red Q5 after the millionth time of it flying through the air! I fixed that with a spare screen I had floating around from when she dropped it in the hot tub!. Just unlocked this one using these guys ($15.00) MobileXpressCanada.com, Fast Canadian Unlock Codes. Thanks Ken for the heads up, got the code in 30 minutes!! Cheers mate!

My ex had two early teenagers. Bloody hell. The boy was the worst. We just looked at him and said "tuff **** kid. Take care of you stuff" lol. Of course it sucked when we couldn't get a hold of him when needed so she ended up caving and getting him a new one.
