Huawei is officially out of the running as a buyer for BlackBerry according to a member of their board.

BlackBerry Ltd (BBRY) Will Not Be Eaten By Huawei

It's refreshing to hear official word rather than speculation.

That would have been a terrible move if they'd gone with Huawei.
Kid Vibe and SDTRMG like this.

HP still seems like a half-decent choice. Although if BlackBerry gets bought by them would the name and logo still be on the phones?

Nah we would be bought, put out for about 2 years, open sourced and sold to be put in washing machines

Speaking of HP buying BlackBerry, my first smart phone was an HP iPAQ, the only reason I did not like it was the windows os, I was told by some one in the timber business that timber cruisers used them.
They use to sale for like $1,000.00. They were powerful and durable, but slow.

I just garbed this picture form the HP site, This is just one model, doesn't it favor a BB.
You don't hear much about the iPAQ phones.

Never liked the past windows mobile iterations. The Shadow was sluggish, the Wing was sluggish, the Dart was sluggish. Very very slow OS.

Wow. I never knew HP made that. Looks like a total ripoff of a BlackBerry, with naming stolen from Apple. Windows Mobile was awful, I remember my friends had HTC Titans (I think?), and I'd play with them and wonder how they could deal with that.

I agree Windows mobile was horrible. (WP is so much better) also the HTC Titan (or HTC eternity) was a Wp7.5 phone not a WM phone
I think you're confusing with the WM version or the TYTN
