Can any wall charger with micro usb plug be used on Storm?

Most of Verizon branded wall chargers state compatiblity with numerous phones.

im not sure....my old phone was an env2 with a micro usb plug. every time i would use it my storm would do some really crazy things, the screen actually stopped working in the bottom left corner at one point. i believe it was the mA on the two chargers that were different that made the phone act up. the phone did however charge before i realized what was going on. i would be weary before plugging any non-blackberry charger into my phone after what happened with mine, or at least check the specs on the charger to make sure you're not getting to much or too little of anything.

I got a generic micro USB wall charger at Fry's the other day. It works great and was a good price. I wanted to have a way to charge at work just for a backup.

I've had good luck using non-BB chargers, but others on this forum haven't had as much success. People have reported the storm locking up when using other chargers.

Stay close to the 700mA rating of the BB charger.

So long as the voltage and amperage is the same, yes, otherwise you risk damaging the circuitry in the phone. If it's a lower amperage, it might work for charging, it'd just take longer, but higher is going to increase the odds of frying something.

You do need to be sure the voltage and ma are the same. By the way, the Tech at the Verizon store pointed out to me and my wife (ENV2) that we could interchange the chargers.

Up to this point we have not done that.

    3rd party env2 charger:
    Input- AC 100v-240v 200mA 47-63Hz
    Output- DC 4.5v-9.5v Max 800mA

    BB Storm charger:
    Input- AC 100v-240v 150mA 50-60Hz
    Output- DC 5v 700mA

    ...just throwing it out there.

I agree with the specs for the BB Storm charger above, but the specs for the LG charger are essentially the same as for the BB except for th e input mA. Apparently the third party LG charger is slightly different. The specs off of the original LG wall charger are:
    Input - AC 100v-240v 200mA 50-60Hz
    Output - 5.1v - 700mA

These should not be a problem if used on either phone.

i agree, the actual lg charger and the blackberry charger shouldnt be a problem seeing how they are very similar in voltage and amperage. i definitely experienced problems when charging with the walmart charger, tho.
