    Hey guys,

Sorry I have scoured the forums and could find nothing on this topic. I'll keep it short.

I got a BB Pearl in the States but I live in South Africa. I've been charging it via my USB on the computer but obviously this isn't always possible. Does anyone know if I can purchase a charger here and it will not fry my phone as the currents are different? We run on 240v and the States is 120v.

    Tx!

If you buy a charger for BlackBerry, it will work. The output must be 5 Volts DC, regardless of the input AC voltage.

The output of a car charger should be the same: 5V DC. I'm looking at the wall charger that came with my Tour. It works with input voltages 100-240VAC and outputs 5V DC at 700 mA. It comes with interchangeable plugs to adapt to European style outlets.

Good info, Jeff! I do most of my charging on the drive to and from work, so my BB is always fully charged.
