So I have a 9630 Tour right now and I wanna order two or three charging pods but I'm waiting for the Tour 2 to come out. It has been pretty much well documented that the overall dimensions and connections on both SHOULD be the same. I just don't wanna go and spend $80-$100 on charging pod then they be useless to me. Anyone know if the charging nodes on the back of the Tour 2 are gonna be the same?

No, I'm looking to get two or three of them and they're bout $20-$30 a piece....2 for home and 1 for the office. Either way, I'd like to know if the nodes are gonna be the same on both of them or ,at least, have an idea.

My guess would be yes. I hope so, I love my pod but don't really want to have to buy another one.

dont pay 20-30 for a charging dock thats almost 2-3 times the price i got mine for. I got it off ebay for like 11$ i think and its 100% authentic made by blackberry and works perfect. the exact same one that you can get off blackberry.com for like 25$. As for being able to use them for the tour2 i would think that they would be completely compatible.

I know there are pictures of the T2 floating around somewhere, can't remember if maybe there are some shots of the battery door?

Should be the same... Tour is the same as 8900 connections

My girl has t-mo and I have sprint ...

Why wouldn't they make the same connections! Tour 2 makers didn't even bother to move the usb slot where the 8530 is .... Why bother making new connections

Seriously!! Newegg.com has had a bunch of sales lately where the pod is $9.99 with free shipping. Right now they're $12.99 and $2.99 for shipping. I'd wait until the next sale if I was you or check eBay.

charging pods are only 10 bucks anyway on Amazon... anyone who pays over 15 bucks for a charging dock is not the smartest at saving money

And yet the RIM charging dock on the CB store remains a bestseller at $25. Who's buying them? I got mine for half that price on ebay.

never had one of those but i assume that if you have any kind of case, like an epik that i ordered last week, it wont fit on it and you must remove the case? no room for wiggle i assume?

with the Epic case, you cannot use the charging dock no matter what size the dock is. The Epic case cover the back connectors that charge the battery. You will always have to take off the Epic case to use any charging dock.

now if you have a Seidio case, the charging connectors on the back of the phone are open so you can use a charging dock, but since you have a case on the phone, you need to buy a bigger charing dock from Seidio that fits with there cases, there charging docks that with with there cases run about 30 bucks, but obviously if your not using a case, just get the 10 dollar ones on Amazon

I wonder if my Tour Seidio 2600 extended battery will fit the Tour 2? Now that would be a deal breaker, not a $10 charging pod.

the phone size and everything is exactly the same as Tour 1. Same battery door ect... the battery for the 2600 Seidio should fit perfect still as it does on Tour 1 as well. I also have the 2600 Battery and have looked into this already.

Wish they made a Power Station for it - I have one for my Curve and love it because it also charges my headset (650e - I have to carry two phones) too - along with a charging cradle with antenna connection in my van. Those are the things that might hold me back from changing as much as I would like WiFi, a REAL GPS and better camera.
