    Hey guys,
So I just got my 9700, and was wondering if a screen protector is necessary to protect it from scratches. I'm talking about like keeping it in your pocket, and everyday use, not having it drop on the ground. I had the iPhone before and never had to use a screen protector because of its glass screen, but was wondering what the deal was wiht the 9700 screen. THanks!

Answer is YES, you do need one. They are pretty cheap to protect your "hundreds $ device". I am still waiting for couple screen protectors for Tour and 8900, and I will use them for my 9700 (all of them have the same screen resolution --> same screen size)

After having my Storm 9530 screen protected for quite a while, I finally took the plunge and pulled it off.

So far, so good. It has been a couple of months with only a silicone sleeve protecting its back and sides and I carry it in my pockets with keys, etc. I'm guessing that it has a glass cover and not the plastic of the Curve.

Without the protector, the screen feels much more fluid (less tacky).

I have always used at least a screen protector, the full body skin is a pain in the **** when it has curved edges. Could never get it perfect so just kept the screen protector on. I am waiting for BSE to release theirs.

well some people have tried using the 8900 screen protector on the 9700 it works pretty well but the 9700 has a little more edge around the screen or something according to people that have used it and it didnt fit perfectly

    Yes...yes....yes.... A thousand times yes!!!!

Or you might have to replace the screen at $80+ it is worth the $$$s to get a screen protector.

I like the Clarivue crystal clear screen protector!!! $11 shipped.

I had a 8900 and didn't have a screen protector on it for a while, and I would always wipe off the finger prints with my shirt..and there were so many little scratches on it.

I went with zagg this time....again

It is tricky to get it on, but once it is on I don't have any orange peel this go-round.

I wouldn't have a device without a screen protector. And I almost bit the head off the TMobile rep who opened my box and put his grubby fingers all over my screen.
