Yes! It is a plastic screen and will scratch extremely easy. I would recommend at least a protector over the main screen.

I literally had my phone 2 days and it's already scratched. I didn't know if I was keeping my phone or not, but I'll for sure put a screen protector on this cheap plastic screen!

Absolutely I have had quite a few cell phones and have always used a screen protector after scratching up my first phone screen.

The best is the Zagg invishield. it is about 20 bucks at best buy and 7.00 to have them install it. it has a lifetime warranty from Zagg and they will replace it if needed with no hassle.

I just got a sheet that you can cut to any size you want from BSE (Best Skins Ever). I just cut a rectangle to fit just over the screen.

Rule of thumb, the first thing to do when you get a new BB is get a screen protector as they are extremely sensitive

May I suggest a privacy protector has worked well for me and given me peace of mind. I purchased mine at the verizon store.

I hated the privacy protectors as they make my screen very dark. I'd rather just have a normal transparent screen protector.

I got the Otterbox commuter case and it came with a screen protector, easy to apply.

My weapon of choice is the Case-Mate Smart Skin. I've had one for my 8300, 8310, 8900, 9300, and soon to be my 9700. I love how it covers the keyboard but is still thin. It also comes with a screen protector!
