Yes, I'm a newb... First post in fact!

Recently purchased an 8GB SanDisk Micro SDHC card for my 8310 Curve. It worked perfectly for a week until I removed it to add more music from my laptop.

Put it back in the BB and got an error. Took it back out > Put it back in... same problem.

It gave me the option of reformating when I went to the Media Card options.. Reformated... apparently that was a big mistake because now its a 4GB card! WTF? Any ideas?? Works fine, but it has only 1/2 the original capacity

Your 8310 can only handle a 4GB card until the 4.5 OS comes. So its only going to show half of the card.

I ran into that problem with my 8820 when I formatted it via my device. I was directed to this site SD Memory Card Formatting Software | SD/SDHC Memory Card | Digital AV | Product Support | Support | Panasonic Global and with that I was able to fix my 6GB microSDHC card and use my spare 2GB microSD card until OS 4.5 comes out.

I have a 8GB chip and OS 4.3 (downloading 4.5 now) so my phone reads all of my chip. See the thing is that I only have about 5MB of memory left on my chip, so needless to say I've used up almost all of my memory. So when I try to play my music or watch videos there is a huge delay between the time I press play and the tyme it actually starts. Is this because it has to search through my oh so many files or have something to do with my having so many. Or could it be because of my OS?

Looptastic.. Reformatting ur microsd will have it show as 8gb again.. Just use fat not NTFS when formatting. Ur berry should still read the full size, but you'll only have access to 4 on an OS before v 4.3

I have a stupid question. I want to get an 8GB micro SD card for my Pearl 8130. What is the difference between an SD card and an SDHC card? Which is the one I should use?
I love this Crackberry site. It is super!

The SDHC has better performance and is faster transfering information than the regular Sd card. Yes, the Pearl 8130 works well with the micro 8 GB SDHC card.

hey looptastic, you mentioned that you took the sd card out to put music on it. Ive always used the USB connection with mine and it shows up just like a thumb drive if your using windows use my computer and it shows up just like any other removable drive. That way you can bypass the annoyance of taking the phone apart or using the laggy software that comes with the 8310
