Hi all just thought I'd pass on my experiences this morning.

My previous phone was a HTC Touch (which I left on the roof of my car and drove off and lost... Won't do that again) which brought me to my bold (yay)

I was happy to discover that the charger/ data connection was the same so I could use all my data and charging cable could still be used.

I went to bed a put the phone on my old htc phone charger as I had done the nights before to charge. I woke up this morning to find my bold was dead as a dodo. (Incidently I slept in because my alarm didn't go off)

Turns out the htc charger doesn't work all the time on the bold, and somehow instead of charging the phone it drained the battery dead!

Just be careful with the charger that you use.. Just because it fits doesn't mean it will work!

This is true. Check the output specs on the charger. If the amperage and ohms aren't the same you could really screw up your device.
