Ordered a new screen shield from Zagg. Had one on my 9000 and loved it. Do some searches online and you can find a 20% off coupon code pretty easy.

So glad you posted this, i just bought it and was wondering if it was any good. How does it deal with the angled eges of the 9700 screen? I see that our screen tapers down both side edge of the screen.

This is gonna be my first BB and I was wondering if the screens scratch that easily? Is a screen protector necessary?

Clean water mixed with a single drop of dishsoap...standard solution....again I have used this company for several years now and was waiting for their 9700 version to come out...never had a zagg

Mine came today. The fit is precise... you can't tell where the screen protector begins/ends. It fits the screen, including the beveled edges of the screen perfectly. Just did the screen for now... will think about doing the top piece (with the ear piece cutout) after I see how this goes.

It's drying right now, takes a bit of patience to apply it but I think this may be a winner.

It's essentially the same stuff as InvisibleShield and BSE. I'm very impressed with the accuracy of the fit though. The material may be the same, but it all comes down to how well it's cut.

It's still drying, but as you can tell, it's not very exciting... 100% screen coverage, and crystal clear. At extreme angles you can see the "orange peel" effect of the screen protector (InvisibleShield tends to be the worst with this... Clear Protector seems to be fairly smooth). Straight on, you can't see it.

I ordered one today too. In the pics it looks exactly like the invisible shield I have on my ipod touch. That is a great product and since it looks the same you can't beat the price. Also found a cradle on ebay for about $16.

$8 for a screen protector is pretty low risk. And if you hate it, peel it off and throw it away. Compared to the other protectors out there, this one is one of the cheapest experiments.

I bought one of these too because of its price....I generally use Martin Fields but lately I've been spending too much on these protectors as they can easily get in the 20's. Hopefully I can find the right deal on a 9700 soon, so that I can try it on

I'm a Martin Fields fan, but the beveled edges of the 9700 are going to be a tough for any rigid screen protector. I've never had a screen protector actually fit edge to edge before.

The screen has dried up after about 14 hrs, and looks great. The only downside is you can definitely see the orange peel in sunlight, but indoors you can't really tell. It's not a deal breaker for me, but some people may be sensitive to this.

Just put a big fingerprint on the screen, and it wiped away nicely with my tie. It will get smudgy, but there really isn't any reason to touch the screen.
