If anyone is having trouble with getting a holster, the old blackberry curve holster works great if you put a little piece of black weather stripping in the bottom with the soft side up and sticky side down. It lifts it up the curve just the right amount to put it to sleep and still holds it in perfectly too. It was a pleasant surprise.

I've used the OEM leather holster for the 83xx. It fits loose and the standby magnet is spotty

I use the 8300 holster with my 8900.
What I did was cut out the magnet from the pocket pouch that came with the 8900. I used a razor and cut the threats on the middle seam of the 8300 holster (about 1/2 inch from the bottom, about a 1/2 inch cut) and slid the magnet in there.
    Standby magnet works fine!
I should probably put some double sided tape on the magnet to hold the magnet in place but I haven't had an issue yet.
