yes it does. The Seidio rep claims its an Innocase surrounded by a hard shell-kind of a convertible if you will.

Hmm not bad looking. It looks almost Identical to the ob defender.

The OB commuter is the absolute best case that I've ever owned. I've had one for my iphone, 8900, and 9700. It fits the sedio innocase clip holster perfect too.

What I liked about the seidio case was that you could use the interior portion without the outside part if you don't need it.

Exactly. It would be ideal for the folks who work outside, then when they get home, slip off the hard shell outer. I like the concept.

I just got a Rugged case by Seidio a few days ago and will be putting a review up within the next couple of days. Fantastic case! On the weekends I usually let my BB go naked, but I found that yesterday and today I've actually preferred to keep it covered with the Rugged. You'll see why I prefer this case to the OB Defender when the review is up.

Here is a photo of the Seidio Rugged case holstered next to an OEM 9000 Bold holster with a 9700 Otterbox Commuter case inside. Let me know what you think. I have lots of photos and a review I am posting this afternoon.

Will the phone stay in the holster without the outer shell on?

It requires both inner and outer cases to use the holster that is provided. I tried it with just the inner case and the hoslter is a little too big for just that case.

Is there an access/opening/panel/etc to get at the charging contacts to use with the Seidio charging pod.....

Only if you take off the exterior silicone case. The charging ports are open on the hard/inner case. Similar to the innocase access.
