Does anyone know of a case that has a place for a lanyard?

I was able to string one around the rubber portion of my Otterbox Defender. I'm still trying to place one on my newer Otterbox Commuter.

I really don't understand how there seems to be nothing available...

I can imagine that folks think it makes them appear as if they had mitten retainer strings - "the kids who lost their mittens!" In other words - dorky.

Since mine goes on hikes and is exposed to rugged mountain tops or snow, I like the added security.

Since mine is inside a Commuter case, I don't feel like exploring now but do I remember that there is a lanyard attachment point on it that allows the thin loop to go into the battery compartment and around a hook or is that another device? But if that is true, a case would still need to accommodate an opening in that area.

I've seen that thread, as well. I was about to suggest one simple solution of drilling a hole into a case in that exact spot, but then looked at the 9630 seidio innocase that I have on my 9650...

The hole for the lanyard on the 9650 is right underneath the leftside speakerphone. The cutout on the seidio innocase for the left speakerphone already allows for that lanyard hole!

Hey, thanks for starting this thread and I just decided to remove the Commuter case, thread the lanyard into the battery hook - not easy as my lanyard's attachment loop material was a bit on the thick side. It generally works but the Commuter is not designed especially for this and so the lanyard is a bit on the eccentric side and, frankly, the entire shebang does not look as sleek but not quite dorky.

Next time I'm on a rocky mountain top trying to take a geotagged photo I won't be as concerned about dropping the Bold.

There are a couple of cases that have what you are looking for. Look for the bb toute or folio cases both come with a lanyards.
