Does anybody know of any iGrip products that will charge the Tour while it holds it? I like the custom iGrip made for the Tour but really want something that charges it since GPS and the music player really drain the battery

I too would like to see a version that charges as well. It seems as though that should be able to incorporate some type of charging mechanism and use the "hot shoe" points on the back like the changing pod.

Anyone know if there is a product out here like that?

I just ordered the iGrip from the Crackberry Store, but no, it does not charge, as you found out already. If I really need it to charge, I'll just take my car charge and plug that into the Tour. You all should have more than one Power adaptor. Yeah, it'll look silly with all those wires and connectors but whatever lol

SmoothTalker had exactly what you're talking about, I had one for my 8830 and loved it (model BTHB88P). It looked just like the custom iGripz, but plugging it into the lighter also charged the phone.

I've written to SmoothTalker twice (3-weeks apart) and both times I was told that one should be available in about 30 days. It doesn't make a lot of sense that I keep getting those "30 day" responses. I hope they're actually working on one because it was one of my favorite BB accessories.

I want one just like the BTHB95P for the Storm---no wires, no mess, just plug it into the lighter and place the phone in the cradle.

Here's a link to the Web site (specifically to the Storm page), maybe if more people inquire about it they'll work a little faster on actually making it; just click on "Contact Us" at the top of the page. https://www.smoothtalker.com/product...ackberry-9530/

Does anyone know how the phone mounts in the iGrip holder? I'd like a drop in holder, but it almost looks like it clicks in or something. If the phone rings while I'm driving I want to be able to just slide it out to use, not have to use 2 hands to unclick something.

Actually found one on their website for the Bold 8900. Wonder if the Tour will work with it. Kind of pricy though.

Well they will probably make one for the Tour soon. So if you are willing to wait you can probably get one.

I don't know where the charging plates are on the Bold, so I don't know if it would work. I'll check on it.

Interestingly enough, the unit for my old 8830 holds my Tour (with full-body PhantomSkinz) pretty securely, so I'm using that for now. I removed the parts that would charge the phone (they were getting warm and I didn't want any harm to come to my Tour) and just plug-in the Tour's car charger, which is plugged into a second lighter-type socket under the front console.

I know that the SmoothTalker units are pricey, but once I took the plunge I was very happy that I did it. My 8830 would get way too hot if I used one of those holders that sticks to your windshield (from the sun) and I didn't like the vent-clip holders. The universal holders always seemed to grip the phone at the convenience buttons and trigger them.

I'm willing to spend the money, I just wish that I could get a definitive answer from SmoothTalker.
