Did a quick search and nothing regarding this came up, so I thought I'd post it.

ICE is a program that EMT's, police officers, firefighters, etc. are using to aid in certain situations. Wikipedia explains it best, so here it is:

"In Case of Emergency, or ICE, is a program that enables first responders, such as paramedics, firefighters, and police officers, to identify victims and contact their next of kin to obtain important medical information. The program was conceived in the mid-2000s and promoted by British paramedic Bob Brotchie in May 2005. It encourages people to enter emergency contacts in their cell phone address book under the name "ICE". Alternately, a person can list multiple emergency contacts as "ICE1", "ICE2", etc. The popularity of the program has spread across Europe, and has started to grow into North America."

Just a thought. You DEFINITELY should be at the least taking a look at this, especially if you have certain medical conditions that need to be known when being treated for something.

I have done this for a few years also. I have prefixed it with an exclamation point so it sorts to the first item in my list.

My Grandmother is a huge spam sender and she sent me an email on this a few years back. I have my house number listed as *ICE Home and same thing with my mom's number. Shows up at the top of the list and gives more options for someone to call.

I think its a great idea! But im thankful that it I have never had to put it into use.

FYI - putting a space in front of ICE makes it go above the *

The only issue I would have is if you normally password protect your phone, nobody is going to be able to find the numbers.

I have that issue. So I put my ICE entry on my Owners Page. That way, they don't have to login to see my emergency contact.

I have my "ICE" numbers in the "owner" section of my phone. (Options>Owner)

This is the information that displays on the screen when your phone is locked. My locked screen looks like this:

    FName LName
    Work: (614) 555-1212
    Home: (614 555-1212
    ICE: HusbandName (614) 555-1212
    ICE MomName (614) 555-1212

I added ICE a while back (and made my kids do the same) but hadn't thought of adding multiple... Which makes sense to do. Won't help to call hubby if he's with me. Thanks!

Personally I don't do this, mainly because my wife's name in my address book is 'wifey' so it is rather self explanatory.

I this the only person you would want them to get a hold of, and what if she doesn't answer....

As a first responder, I would recommend another contact. So when out in the field they can be accessible
