What I would like to do is watch a movie which is on my playbook on the tv.
    Background: Blackberry playbook 64gig
    mini port connection
Led 42" Hd lg connection type: version 1.4
pin connection: double bevel connector (standard hdmi cable)
From what I have seen is that there are two types of hdmi cables the standard and the high speed. Is there a certain size of a file that you will see the faster speed come into affect?
Does the the playbook have the capacity of transfering the information to the tv that fast that a high speed cable is required?
When purchasing a cable online many times they don't show a picture and just give a description just highspeed or hdmi cable how do you know what connection are on both ends?
Is there some kind of standard as to say a standard hdmi cable will have a mini port connection on one end and the other end a two sided or single bevel on the other end?
    Thank you

The hdmi cable that came bundled with a playbook direct from RIM says high speed on the connector, and it feels like a quality cable (quite thick) - I have a thinner cable that works too. I guess the high speed has a better quality construction. wikipedia has lots of details on the differences.

Purchased a micro hdmi 5 ft cable from CB which works great. Wanted a longer cable to use for games like monopoly, so I am on my 2nd 15 ft cable purchased from Amazon...which stated the cable was compatible with PB...neither work. Any suggestions as to what could be wrong?

No clue why your Amazon wouldn't work. I got a 10ft cord from Amazon and it works great.

HDMI by its very nature is high speed and calling a cable high speed is true, all hdmi is high speed because it is digital. The 1080i or 740p refers to the amount of pixels on screen, not speed of the signal, to call an hdmi cable high speed is true but to call one standard is not, all hdmi is high speed.

Cost of hdmi cables mainly differs in connection quality for the life of the cable not image quality of the video. The ends on more expensive cables may last longer with less breakage when used and moved, plugged and unplugged frequently. Image quality is not going to differ between those high cost monster cables and the cheap ones you buy for a tenth the price.
