I have one but I try not to use it unless I really have to..
I started to notice the battery would heat up when I'd leave it on the car charger so I don't really trust it

My car has a blackberry holder installed that is powered, so whenever I'm in the car, the BB is powered, and not on battery. =)

My OEM Motorola car charger fits my Berry and works fine. Although I've heard that the BlackBerry units will not charge a Moto phone. Both are standard mini USB so I don't understand the logistics of it.

I use my car charger only when absolutely necessary.... RIM put the USB/Charge port in the worst place possible for charging while talking.

I used mine for two years on my 7130e and now for a few months on my 8130, with no problems whatsoever!!

I only use it when I need it, not everytime I'm in the car. I charge my baby everynight while I sleep so the only tiime I use the car charger is if I have had a really busy day!

I'm sure there are a lot of users that may never have a problem, but it does take a toll on your betteries faster. You are better of using a motorola car charger for your berry than an OEM one for your berry.

I've heard the "talk" that it isn't good for the battery.
But, I've also heard that that is old "talk" ....

Does anyone have reservations about using a car charger for your Blackberry?
some batteries can get overcharged thus resulting in shorter battery life, but it seems w/ blackberry's that once the battery is charged fully, it stops providing a charge to the battery, which in our cases is a good thing considering how much we use our phones.

The battery on my Curve is so much better than ALL of my previous phones... I charge from the wall every other night, or via USB when I sync. I've never noticed a need for a car charger since I always have some sort of battery power.

I have one but haven't used it yet. Its there for the times I forget to charge and I'm really going to need it that day. I just charge by my laptop every night or every other night depending on use. I keep my wall charger at work just in case also buy haven't used that either.

That's good to hear. I use my curve so much that I plug it in every chance I get. In the car at home to my PC.

I don't use the car charger very much, even though I have one. I find that if I am using GPS on my 8830, I will plug it in (GPS + long trip = low battery). For standard usage (no GPS), I can usually get through entire day or two before needing to charge. I usually plug in each night, just in case.

I use a "igo" multi tip charger system. I have tips for my ipod, bb, headset etc. It has an "iq" chip (i'm "ing the company lingo) that regulates the charge and keeps it from overcharging or backdrawing. Works awesome on everything i use it on.
