Bought mine from the cellguru.com and ordered a second right away for the car. I am going to strip off the foam on the bottom and either velcro or double stick it to the dash. This way I don't have to spend another 30.00 for a proclipusa.com mount!!!!!!!

You can get them on ebay for 23.95 shipped.

Search at ebay for "BlackBerry storm desktop Charging Pod"

I am thinking of velcro'ing it in my car or something to use it as a car mount.

If that's the case then I think 99.99 percent of us are perverts too- because i'm sure we all thought the same thing as we read that one...

I even thought of a few witty things to say about it- but decided not to in case there were some still pure minds that visited the site

Amazon has them listed for 23.50. Can't post link yet, sorry.

I bought this mainly for the car, I don't think it will be hard to create a mount for it.

Not seeing that price on Amazon. And all are not stocked by Amazon. Says 3-5 weeks for the amazon direct one.

Amazon.com: BlackBerry ASY14396008 Desktop Charge/Sync Pod BlackBerry 9500 Storm Series: Cell Phones & Service

BlackBerry ASY14396008 Desktop Charge/Sync Pod BlackBerry
Amazon.com: Used and New: BlackBerry ASY14396008 Desktop Charge/Sync Pod BlackBerry 9500 Storm Series

I think ebay may get it to you quicker and cheaper.

Sorry it was actually through an Amazon store.....Bargaincell I've ordered from them before, never had an issue.

I'm pretty much done with Ebay.

Looking at the pics of that cradle, it shouldn't be hard to custom a mount. Will post pics when I get it done.

The cradle works great and the usb port lines up correctly so it drops right in. It would have been nicer though if they made the phone like their older ones, with two contacts on the phone body to do the charging--I'm always afraid the usb port will be short lived using it this much.

had 2 problems with the cradle so far.

#1 the phone froze over night and the alarm never went off (see my landscape wallpaper post lol)

#2 droped the phone in the cradle last night. icked it up this morning to go to work.... It never charged!!! I know it was in since the weight alone is enough to pop it in + it went into bedside mode.

So i LOVE the cradle.. but now i have trust issues with it. Its not reliable for an alarm and im not sure if ill get a full charge when i wake up.

    Time will tell.....

I love it, wasn't too sure at first. The bedtime/clock mode is great. Haven't used the alarm clock, but readied it to try tonight, I think it will be more effective than my present alarm clock actually. I do have to take it out of the case, but the black skin is very easy to remove and put back on...

I like the desktop cradle but have one MAJOR problem with it:

When the cradle is connected via USB to the computer, the phone won't charge with the computer off. Normally expected and not a big deal. HOWEVER, under these conditions the phone *discharges* and you'll wake in the morning with a dead battery.

There's a little white LED in the back of the cradle, which oddly stays lit if the phone is docked and the USB cable is disconnected. I suspect this might be the source of the power drain.

I wish there was a USB y-cable or something, which allows us to funnel power from the AC charger while keeping the craadle connected to the PC via USB cable for data transfers.

Anyone else run into this problem?

I love it and since I travel alot, well not lately, but now I can use that alarm clock and not a crappy hotel one. Plus watching a movie on it is nice, no need to hold the phone and perfect angel for me. Plus it's a nice clock for when I'm at work.

Search eBay for "storm cradle" and you will find a couple non-OEM ones that claim to have just that -- but I haven't tried them... I can only vouch for the OEM cradle, which has been working great for me at home and at work (I have 2)
