I use to have the 8330, now I have the 8530. It had been working great until I bought a case of it. (One of the snap in place ones) and once I put it on, my curve slowed down. No clue why.

It keeps freezing and I have to do a battery pull. There are no background apps goings. Is the case causing my phone to react a certain way? Its a plastic case.

    Any else have this problem??

I don't think a case would affect the phone's speed. If your phone is slowing down, try updating your OS.

Its a brand new phone though. How often should I update my OS?

If an update is available. Go to Options > Advanced Options > Wireless Update. You'll be able to update your phone from there.

Does the phone get hot? Maybe the case is to tight possibly compressing the phones internals witch can cause the phone or battery to get hot. Try another case, if you have the same problem IMO you should take the phone to your service provider and have them exchange it.
