Just got a Bold 9700 so now looking to replace the mini-USB accessories from before.

Searching eBay for OEM chargers and under $10 shipped. Wow there's a sea of counterfeits!! The micro-USB car charger RIM part numbers are ASY-18083-001 or HDW-17958-001 (search for them, I don't want to seem like I'm pushing any particular seller) I'm a n00b Crackberrier so I can't post URLs yet.

    Exhibit 1: Blatant counterfeit
    ebay# 170451596598
2A max current? Either high end ($$) or cheap components or it'll run burning hot. Not to mention not even a Blackberry logo on the engraved specs, just the glowing white LED part. And I've never seen a RIM charger with shiny plastic.

Exhibit 2: Looks good, even a box! Haven't seen these before though.
    ebay# 260561473701
Has the Blackberry logo engraved where the specs are, but again, 2A output?

Any input from the Crackberry crowd or any other counterfeits you've run into?

Any time you have a name brand product people buy accessories for, unscrupulous bastards will step in there and start marketing fakes, counterfeits, sound-alikes, etc.

SanDisk memory cards are facing a big problem like this, tons of fakes are sold on ebay and the net.

Chinese shops are selling Nokla instead of Nokia, etc.
