does this charger work ok with the tour? i just got it, but it doesn't mention the tour on the box. it looks similar to the one crackberry sells.

    BlackBerry - Micro Vehicle Charger - 31219BBR

i only got it at bestbuy cause i had some reward $ to burn.

I'm 99% sure it should work seeing as how the Tour uses the same micro usb port as the storm and curve 8900.

It should work just fine for you since it is micro-usb. if not, Best Buy has a good return policy and will refund you the money

Don't all new BB devices use the same micro USB connector?

Yes. I don't believe the Bold used micro though.

Yeah the bold was the last to use mini-usb. Although the new micro usb allows for smaller phones and cuts down the size, I already had a ton of mini-usb cables and chargers so that benefitted me a lot.

FYI... it appears to work fine with the tour

To be safe, I'd compare the output voltage to that of the OEM charger. It would be a shame to fry your device trying to save a couple bucks.

look at the label on each charger and compare output, though i am fairly certain that it iwll be the same or at least voltages will be and the car charger might have lower current but it should still charge.

If the voltages are [slightly] lower than that of the OEM, I'd probably feel comfortable using it. If it's higher, I wouldn't try it.

car charger has output of 5V (500mA) and the wall charger has an output of 5V (700mA), so i think it is safe to use

Yeah, I'd feel comfortable using it. The difference in mA just means it'll take longer to charge. Don't fret though - it'll be negligible - I'm talking minutes.

I use my car charger for my old T mobile Curve 8900 on my Sprint Tour with no problems!

Who pays $26 for a mobile phone charger?!? $7.40 to your door:
Amazon.com: Motorola P513 High Performance Loop Car Charger for Micro USB Phones: Cell Phones & Service

and that's about $2 more than I usually pay for those.

Go take advantage of BestBuy's return policy and buy yourself 3 of these.

All the micor-usb chargers should work across phones and devices. That is why the micro is now pretty much the standard. I use my micro with my blue tooth headset as well.
