I have an old car charger for an HTC 6800. The socket is the same as the Bold, would it be safe to use. I can't determine any markings/labels on the chargers to indicate things like voltage, etc. so its more or less black.

    thanks,

Should be safe! I'm using a generic mini usb charger I got on eBay for 2 and its been working fine.

Just make sure the voltage / amperage rating on the charger meets the specifications of your BB.

There shouldn't be a problem. I think I was using the charger for a RAZR for my 8300 at one point.

Just like you can charge your BB using your Playstation 3 and the lead that charges the controller !

I know two people who bought cheap knock-off car chargers and subsequently experienced strange glitches on their Bolds. I ended up buying an original BB branded charger just to be safe.
