Just pre-ordered a Case-Mate Barely There for the new Bold 9900 from Crackberry Canada. The brushed aluminum case looks really nice. I didn't have much success with the Barely There series for the Torch due to the sliding keyboard and 2 pieces of the cases.

However, the barely there series for the Bold 9700 was my favourite case. I think that the case-mate for the Bold 9900 will be just as good as the Bold 9700 due to it being just 1 piece and not 2 like the Torch.

What do you guys think? Here is a pic of it.

You'll probably have a hard time with the two piece design.....

That might be why I go 9900 over the 9810. I like to keep my BB's protected and for resale value.

I would hate to cover the carbon fiber back. BUT, for those who got to do a case, I like the CaseMate units a lot. I love the Barely There series and got one on my iP4

Have to admit that this case from Otter Box looks nice. I have never been a huge fan of Otter Box just because of the bulk added to the phone.

It is however, the case I am using for my Torch. More because of default because of the lack of a good case from anyone else (as mentioned above).

My problem with casemates is their big ugly logo plastered on all of their cases

The Otterbox for the Torch was terrible, especially compared to the cases they make for the other BlackBerrys. Of course, the design of the Torch has much to do with it, but it was still very disappointing.

Otterbox make great cases in general, have the Defender for my Playbook and one for my Curve 8530 - both are fantastic.

That said, I will not buy the Defender for my new Bold until they fix the holster design. The "clips" constantly break, causing the phone to fall out of course. The Curve series defender cases do not use clips, but rather a friction fit/cup to hold the phone and worked much much better, with no parts to break off. The defender for Bold holster needs to be re-worked.

I wonder if the metal Case-Mate Barely There will fit inside the original 9930 holster?

Is the casemate case a soft or hard cover? And it looks like it doesn't protect the top and bottom of the phone?
