So I've had my BB for about 6 months now and never used the leather case that came with it. When I tried it out today I noticed that when you put it in the case, the screen automatically turns off. And when You take it out, it turns back on. As an engineer I'm curious to know how this works. Is there a sensor on the phone that when pressure is applied causes the change. Or could there b a computer chip in the case and in the phone that activates it. Anyone know?

There is a sleeper magnet in the pouch and a sensor in the phone

You should really use a pouch or holster that takes advantage of this!! It really unlocks a whole new world of your device.

You can set certain profiles for "In Holster", etc. Also... when you receive a message, if the phone is holstered and you take it out within 15 seconds, it will auto-open the message for you to see.

It will also, auto-end calls when placed back into the holster

The holster is GREAT. I like playing with the flashy screen when I'm bored.
