I have used it but just got done cleaning it. I am going to try it w/out the membrane. Somehow some dirt got underneath it and there was a lot of build up around the trackpad of my 8530. We'll see how it goes.

I was just wondering how the experience is w/out from other members?

    Thanks!

Why have the Otterbox without the full protection? Sounds goofy.
How long had it been since the last time you cleaned your BBerry?

It has only been about a month since I received the defender. The build up around the opening for the trackpad is what I don't like.

The defender is still a very effective case even without the keyboard membrane. I use it that way.

Thanks, jww700. That is kind of what I was thinking.

    I used the keyboard

    splash of water out of
my glass drop on top &
    into my keyboard.....
    Ouch! $95 w/ins. 4 my
    2nd curve.I love my
    Otterbox & clip...still
    don't use keyboard covr
    But I have a hard
    Privacy screencover on
    My screen 1st & then
    My Otterbox & I can't
    Count the times its
    Been dropped even on
    Asphalt the box is alittle
    Scratched up but phone

I've had Otterbox Defender for my Curve 8330 and now the Storm2. I do NOT use the membrane protection. Don't like the feel of it on keyboard and screen. The 8330 screen is covered with a plastic cover anyway and might scratch a little but not likely to break the screen. I even had an older Blackberry where the screen got broken when I sat on it but it didn't harm the working screen beneath the plastic. The additional protection provided by the hard plastic case and rubber cover provide a lot of protection without the membrane.

I used to use screen protectors when I had other PDAs including the Treo because I was poking the screen with a stylus. But with the Storm2 only a soft finger touch and with track balls and track pads, I don't seen a need to add screen protection.
