As per shop.blackberry.com, when you click on 8900 Leather Swivel, it shows 9700 as being on of the compatible cases so those waiting to buy, you may as well buy now!

I just find it weird that RIM would go with such a small form factor for a Bold. I know it's only in its second generation but I guess I misunderstood what exactly the Bold title meant.

I have that case (used it with my Curve 8900) and it works just as great with the Bold 9700 too.

It is a little loose but I prefer a little loose to it being too tight and hard to get out.

Also using it for my bold. Mine fits the device perfectly. Not too fond of the included case :/

The case that came with my 9700 doesn't even closely resemble the original swivel case I had bought for my jav. The 9700 swivel case is a miniature version of the previous bold swivel case. Maybe they're compatible but the 9700 REAL one is beautiful. Don't take the 8900 one.... It's ugly.

I have used vertical holsters, but have been using the horizontal holsters as of late. They are more comfortable to wear.

    TWSS...

Anyways... At least those people that are moving up from a 8900 don't have to buy a new case. Case makers aren't probably too happy though since they lose potential business.

To each their own. I love the look of the 8900 case and prefer it over the one that comes with the 9700 in the box.

This is the one I have right now for my Javelin. OMG!!! Do NOT buy this for that price. I got mine for about half of that.

I know. I found it on an online retailer's website for $27.95 plus $5.95 shipping though

Do you like the holster? Is it really stiff like the OEM vertical holsters? It is soft?

If you look at the comparision on RIM's site, the two phones are almost exactly the same size. If I remember, the 9700 is a touch thinner(?) But height and width are identical.
