I've a new BlackBerry ID, confirmed and everything. I downloaded BBM (I guess the consumer side) from the app store and when I go to login it says that it doesn't recognize the user ID. This is crazy. BBM has never been 'simple', always something going on. How come I can't login? I've confirmed the user ID, the password; everything on the BlackBerry ID website. All is well there. This problem is on my iPhone 7 Plus... Thank you for your help!

I believe the iPhone prefers a login with a phone number.

You'll need to confirm the email id on the email you'll recieve from EMTEK once you sign up for a new account on the BBM app on your iPhone. That's the new procedure since Emtek is now the owner of consumer BBM.

What you've done with the BBID website will only allow you to use the BBID on BB OS/BB10 BBM and not iOS/Android BBM.

Because I also got me an iphone after my Q10 finally died after 4.5 Years of great service, and I can't for the live of me figure out how to log into BBM. It just tells me "invalid password or mail" when I try to log in (I'm 100% sure it's correct, I typed it with 50 doublechecks on that stupid touchscreen) and it also won't send me a new password to my BBM ID email.

    What gives?

Your BB10 BBM account is no longer compatible with Emtek's Android and iOS BBM system. You will need to create a new account.

Really?! Is there any official source for that? Not that I want to accuse you of lying or something, but I can't believe what they are trying to pull with that.
So whatever they are having, it's not BBM, then… Is BBM enterprise the original BBM or is that something else? I need BBM to contact my BBM contacts, and I need them to be able to reach me at my BBM ID.
The hole deal with those messengers is that they are device independent, I thought. If I gotta have a new messenger and the whole "Please now reach me under my new ID" shenanigans, I might as well move to a better platform.

    Thanks!
While I still don't understand WTF they were thinking, that clarifies things a bit. Since I have always been strongly in the first group of "two very distinct and different audiences: enterprise customers, many of whom require military-grade security for their text, voice and video conversations; and consumer users interested in a free service that offers sticky features like games, shopping, music, news, payments and more." I would want BBM enterprise anyways.
I'll give that a try to see if that is just the normal BBM, or if that needs some enterprise backend or whatever.
