Better is subjective. But if it suits you, then that's awesome!

    More secure is incorrect.

Well you might be correct, but from what I read and watched, it is way more secure than 3rd party apps like Viber and Whatsapp which are sharing your info, phone number etd
On top of that, only on BBMe (and BBM) you can make timed message and chose when it will dissapear.
Also, it is impossible to make screenshot of chat in BBMe.
I believe that it accounts as security also, together with many other features, back to back encription.
Also, knowing that is it not 3rd party app like mentioned above, but RIMs original messaging app created from start for security, used by companies, american government etc, now also, improved...
    I respect your opinion though

Viber and whatsapp have ZERO advantages over BBMe, not a single feature that is better, or missing in BBMe.
On contrary, BBMe has many features that no other msngr app has.
    Some examples:
    -timed messages
-priority messages (ex PING), now customisable as u wish!
    -retract (viber has it)
-easily click on contacts and groups icons (good luck with that on viber)
-you don't have to leave your phone number to install it
-NO adds (Viber has it, not sure about Whatsapp)
    -no screenshots from chats allowed
-pin chats to top as u vish (Viber has it too)
-delivery and read receipts for Groups and contacts...
    -hide chats
    -Ping(priority) for groups
-very beautiful, simple and functional design
-way faster than Viber and other apps
And it is just opened for individuals, I imagine it will be even better soon!

My honest opionion, and I am super-satisfied with BBMe!!!

If you are coming from BB10 you might remember Zoom app. Just like BBMe Zoom is geared toward groups and offers standard E2E with very similar Chat features, sans live location and timed messages.

I really don't understand why BBRY killed enhanced group features such as calendar and tasks. That was really something unique.

Without the Group calendar and list function, I have no reason to use BBMe or get my wife to download it.

Yeah it's back to being a basic messenger... which is fine if that's all you need. It's just not the collaborative tool that it was.

While it's free.... I recommend every BlackBerry fan give it a try.

Viber and whatsapp have ZERO advantages over BBMe,
Except for one thing: not having to convince everyone you know to switch to a messenger that requires them to enter a credit card number.

    Yes, completely agreed.
But once they decide to try it, and pay this low price, they are thankful they lisened to your advice.
Reactions of people who started using BBMe are really possitive!

I was adamant that I would not try this BBMe thing but the fanboy could not resist.

It is actually quite nice once you crack it open.
Blackberry should have offered a coupon code for a 6 months trial period.

Many of those collect extensive meta data that is discoverable by legal inquiry or via data breaches. The messages are encrypted, but the identities of users and the timing and length of the messages are logged.

Moreover there are many Enterprise-level services left off that (consumer-oriented) list. BBMe would be my choice for security over many, though not all, of those services.

The ironic thing is that BBMe has always been very good. BlackBerry just neglected it in favor of the consumer service they licensed to Emtek.

I only have one contact as well.....my wife. We both love the simplicity and format of BBM, so to go to BBME was a no-brainer. Lovely messaging app.

My wife and my kid both love BBM on BB10. We'll definitely be switching to BBMe. My kid doesn't have a phone, so no service that requires a phone will work, but BBMing via a wifi-only device works great for home and school.

Yup, when they killed those, that's when I went looking for something else. Those features kept me on BBM for years.
