I use what the people I want to talk with use.....

WhatsApp is more secure than the BBM Consumer product.

Neither. I TEXT using the stock (BB Android) text app.

For work we use Google Hangouts, I have no idea how secure either one is.

SMS for most contacts. BBM for 2 of my contacts. I haven't used WA once but I do have it running.

If BBM and Whatsapp are your two options I don't know what to say... BBM doesn't seem to be listening to our needs, and Whatsapp is so not my style of a communication platform. They just want to create another social network.

Back to dark ages. SMS/MMS. Civilization will grind to a halt because people won't pay with FB/WA currency AKA data monetization.

Like going to a store, wanting something but not wanting to pay the price. Then go without or find a competitor that offers everything at better price. If doesn't exist, use what you had before product was created.

Though I really do not like the WhatsApp app, (specifically it's navigation) I am forced to use it since many of my contacts do, especially ones in countries that almost use WhatsApp exclusively.

    BBM is free
    Telegram is free
    Signal is free
I'm sorry why do we have to pay again? I think I missed your point. Not sure they data mine your info on these

Personally I do use a of the messaging platforms but choose only to send sensitive information over signal.

they have and use your data is some way or form. I know BBM can use anything you post in BBM Groups or channels for their own purposes, whether that be advertising or otherwise. Telegram might be different since it does assure security where BBM does not.

I would think signal would be in the same category as Telegram right? So there are apps that we can have free and not pay a price of privacy.
No need for dark ages lol

Hey guys... I was using mostly BBM but the update they broke its functionality for BB handsets...(keyone, motion as well ...) If you are thinking of starting to use it, strongly reconsider... I guess there is not much to choose from right now!
