One good trick. The backspace deletes the character on the left. But if you hold the shift key, backspace will delete the character on the right!

Sweet, this should really have a thread of its own because I nearly missed it!

Sometimes the circle doesn't appear when I tap, is there a hockey or a way to guarantee it appears? It got me thinking it would be nice if there was a setting to make it was always visible when you start typing.

Any tips for getting the cursor back to the end of the line at the very edge? I find sometimes I'll be typing things then move to cursor for one reason or another, then really struggle to get the cursor back to the end of the text when the text is at the right edge of the page.It gets very frustrating sometimes.

I don't think this has been mentioned but if you tap a word to correct and bring up the circle you can tap left or right side within the circle and the cursor will move a character respective to the direction tapped. I find this more useful than dragging the circle around. Sorry if this has been mentioned I just found out.

Also, you can tap the top of the circle to go up a line and tap the bottom in the circle go down a line

However, I'm much more productive in multitasking, since the swipe up is a lot faster than a long press on the menu key, and applications switch much faster as well.
On your OS6/7 device go to Options > Typing and Input > Keyboard and increase key rate to Medium Fast or Fast. This will decrease the length of time for a long press, and with practice you can switch apps in the blink of an eye.
