To answer a call, you're prompted to swipe down. To ignore a call, just swipe up!

    (its not obvious at first)

When you say dismiss a call, do you mean immediately send to voice mail, or let the caller hear it ring till finish and then send them to voice mail ?

I don't have a Z10 (yet) but from my experience with other other Blackberry devices, dismissing a call send the caller to voice mail immediately.

I can confirm swipe up ignores the call and sends it immediately to voice mail.

And you can just touch the action bar in the middle of the screen without dragging up or down and the phone will go spent without directing the call to voicemail. Hope that's clear enough.

Personally, I'd prefer to have an option of a green "answer" button, grey "mute" button and red "dismiss" button instead of the swipe actions.

The Z10 isn't for you then. It'll disappoint if these buttons are important to you. I love the Z10 for what it is. Minus the bugs.

It's not obvious....period. Thanks for the tip, I've been staring at calls I didn't want to answer, for the last week. Is it too much to put in an intuitive ignore gesture? Now I see why OS 10 wasn't ready for the holiday season, the paint is still wet.

Agreed, gestures are what makes this platform what it is!

I always found the basic gestures (answer/ignore) were fairly intuitive. Keep up the good work BlackBerry!

Touching the bar to stop the ring is new to me but i always assumed swiping up will reject the call.

I always use the volume key to silent the phone if i don't want to answer it. Its like that also on my old bb7 and i think most phones. I also found out just now pressing the volume key middle button also stops the ring

What about a decline with txt option? See this on android and iphone. Ignore call with Txt reply. Maybe a swipe left or right to bring up a few quick "I'll call you right back" "in a meeting" type messages.

It is? I'm running a 10.2 leak and don't have this option. Which version are you on?

Go into the Phone, swipe down, Settings.

    Look for "Priority Calling"

Wooooah that's awesome. Didn't even know that was there. Thank for the tip man! Kind of wish that the first part of the message could also be changed, but good to know that the feature is there.

It is obvious as soon as you touch the answer bar in the middle of the screen, the red reject illuminates as well as the green answer icon

Also, the phone tells you to pull down to answer, and as soon as you touch the call bar, it tells you to swipe up to reject.

I shouldn't have to touch the answer bar to see what I can do with it. It should be clear before I pick up the device that swiping it up ignores the call.

But after you answer the phone once do you need that reminder to swipe up to ignore every time you get a call afterwards? I don't even think about it anymore and like that I don't have to look for a button. I find I'm less likely to accidently ignore a call if I'm running to my phone from another room. The swipe up or down is easier imo...

    Good point.

Why does it say "pull down to answer" then?
