    Hi,
I've recently destroyed my Z10 which had an excellent signal reception almost everywhere I went. Since I like the BB10 OS I decided to upgrade to the Z30. But I have to say that the signal is E X T R E M E L Y weak. Is this normal?
On the EU model STA100-2 used inside the EU and upgraded to the latest 10.3.3.2205 using the files from this very forum (.exe file from MEGA from the sticky thread, same as I did with my Z10) forums.
It's so bad that I get like one signal bar at home and none at work. WiFi is also extremely weak with approximately half the range compared to the Z10. Any ideas? Wiping and updating again didn't help.
(I'm really sorry for new post, I've searched the forums but can't find anything decisive about this newest version.)

    Are you actually dropping calls?

There have been issues in the past with the signal meter reporting low signal even when signal is strong.

If you are having reception problems... try a different radio file.

The signal meter seems ok. When it says disconnected then it is indeed disconnected.

Any idea which one is best? I've seen several reccomendations. And can I use a radio file from different OS version? Like 10.3.2 radio? Or is the "no downgrade" rule also including the radios?

You are only limited with radio compatibility, not by a hard rule.

It won't make a difference though.

My Z30 on 10.3.3.2205 seems no different from my Z10s. You can try running an autoloader again in case something went wrong.

I've already did that once. Right now I finished wiping the phone and I'm downloading the 10.3.3.2163 to try it.

You don't have to wipe. An autoloader does that already.

Well I like just to be safe.

Few posts above you said that different SW version won't make a difference. Is there any other way how to fix this?

The radio file hasn't changed in ages - apart from version number, so messing with it won't help. A new install may generally help if something went wrong during the previous install.

Apart from that, you either have a hardware fault, or live in a specific spot that favours the Z10 over the Z30 for reception.

Oh. Ok. Is there a "deeper" way to flash these things in case some files were left over from the previous versions?

    No, and no need.

Downgrade to 10.3.3.746 did precisely nothing... :/ seems like I will have to buy another Z10...

Oh, it did something. That's the Developer build, which is missing some applications and features. Try 10.3.3.2163(?) or 2205.

So after testing several radio files trough Sachesi and countless different 10.3.3 autoloaders I returned the phone and ordered another Z10...
(BTW the issue was present with both T-Mobile and Vodafone mobile providers. I tested that too.)

For anyone who stumbles upon this thread in the future. I did not find any solution whatsoever....

The Z30 is widely known as having superior reception to the Z10. You clearly just had a bad unit.

Might be, but I'm not going to risk the price of another return shipping if other units are damaged too.
