First are you using a PC or Mac? Second, have you closed all open BB Device Managers? I've found that sometimes my laptop won't see my Z10 if I don't close the open device manager.

First make sure you are using a usb data sync cable and not a usb charging cable. Tty another usb cable. If that doesn't work then Take the battery out and put it back in while attached to your pc via the usb cable with link open, you will see the phone pop up for about a half a second on link. You need to click reload Os before it goes away. If you miss it just keep taking out and re inserting the battery until you are able to click the reload Os button

Happens to every computer. First step is to reboot computers before determining if it's hardware or cable related. Just a FYI for next time

If link and online don't work right away will need a soft brick

Using link pull battery? As it is trying. To reload or use an autoloader?

In case anyone Googles this problem in the future, and this thread pulls up: Go to device manager and delete everything BlackBerry related. If swapping/replugging cables or a reboot doesn't sort you, this generally does. When you plug your BB back in, it will re-detect the device and reinstall the drivers automatically. This actually works for most devices in windows (whether you want it to or not).
