found a hex editor that can better compare the differences of 2342 to official 1720 STL100-1. It color codes the differences in offset lines, and the special offset line inclusions in colors, so I can better compare

I wouldnt mind being a hybrid OS tester for the STL100-1 but will need to get the device first.......just saying. =)

The initial build was tested and it failed, I am currently in the process of looking into the code to find the very small needle in a haystack differences in Hex values. This may not be a simple process, and I may not be able to complete this task. However, I have not forgotten, and will keep trying to find a solution until my wits end. That being said IF i'm unable to find a solution, don't start any flaming threads about the 100-1 being left out. Just know that it has been attempted and it's a complete ***** to do when don't personally have the above mentioned device.

No because the 2342 OS file I have is still coded to the qc8634 chip in STL100-2/3/4 vs the winchester chip in the STL100-1

What confuses me most is that 2342OS files contains all device information from the playbook to the Dev alphas to Z10 (all variants) to Q10 and even has the HWID of the Q5. So why that build isn't taking to the device even with the base autoloader containing the proper HWID for the STL100-1 Is beyond me.

Try using the Q10 2342 OS file and see if it will work?
I mean granted, the chipset of Q and Z should be same apart from STL100-1, but who knows lol
And will it load if the .signed is pushed via sachibar?

From talking to a few well informed individuals, PlayBook support IS on the BB10 OS, just the resolution is not supported.
DO NOT try to update to the most recent OS10 by dingle, sachibar, etc, because you will brick your PlayBook. The newer OS's blacklist OS 2.X in the nvram, so you can't downgrade either

I'm not going to try it...I've read PlayBook is blacklisted at the moment and I don't want a brick

It is blacklisted for sure. I know this from a credible source
I've tried up to 10.0.9.xxxxx (pre official release) and got to a homescreen with no icons or anything. Just a background. Completely useless, so I downgraded.
Luckily I haven't tried one of the newer releases. I feel bad for the people who have. They will see the cool BB10 boot screen, then it will be stuck at 100%. That's all they will get out of their playbook until BB decides to release a BB10 update.
By the timeline, it should be coming soon though, potentially within the next months. But I wouldn't put it past them to delay it more LOL

Well considering 2342 OS already mentions Q5, shouldn't be long at all for the Playbook. It's really only a matter of time till it can be coded properly. I wonder if I can ever get the autoloader to work for the STL100-1, if I can find the screen resolution hex values and add the PB screen resolution along with the blacklist values and remove them

Wouldn't that tinker with the signature?

It wouldn't because the signature is a separate hex value in the code

Yes, but by removing certain parts, you essentially change the size of the OS, which renders the signature useless?

No the signature doesn't have anything to do with size as far as i know

This may be a question asked and answered before. I live in India and bought a Z10 STL 100-1 and have installed my AT&T SIM from the US. When the 10.1 is ready, how will I get the update? Will AT&T push it for 100-1 as well as their 100-3? Can I get it through Link? I have heard some suggest removing the SIM card and trying through Wi-Fi but that did not seem to work for me. Or will I need to do something different to get the update? This question is not exactly on topic of this thread, but related and hoping someone know the answer.
