Holy smokes!!! What a combo! Put a couple albums on my Z10's sd card, plugged it by way of aux plug in to my Mini Cooper S's stock, factory installed Harmon Kardon sound system and it rocks! Anyone else plug their BlackBerry 10 in to their car this way?

Aux sucks because you can't control the media from the car.

    Have you tried Bluetooth?

But the sound does sound better using aux. I use BT also for hands free phone calls, though.

Sorry I am soooo not a techie person for this, you mean that you connect your z10 to your head unit's USB and switch to aux mode?

Right. So you can't skip, pause, select tracks etc in your car. What is this the Nineties?

I have to use aux with my iPod classic rather than USB. I have too many songs and it freezes up the system in my 2014 Mazda3.

I use this gadget in my car with my Z10. Stream music, makes phone calls and can use voice controls as we'll. plus through the car aux input and connect via Bluetooth to the Z10.

For $40, you can't go wrong.

I use the Aux method. I then set my car's eq and jam out

The only thing that makes it tough is having to unlock my phone to change playlist, etc. I wish the music app would override it. Otherwise, using the volume keys to change songs works great.

Mini Connected does connect by aptX I believe but mine doesn't have that system...It has the Harmon Kardon Premium Sound in it instead (Factory Install)

That's the beauty off the kinivo BTC450. It has FF, BW and Pause/play button on it. That way I can mount the phone on my dock and use the controls on the Btc for everything.

Maybe I'll make a video sometime today if I can and demonstrate the unit.

    Cheers

Yes.. but if you live in a place like me where you get a $200 ticket for touching your phone while driving, I'd be more than happy to pay the $40 and have hands free .

    Wjf84 is clueless.

I'd rather have to switch tracks with my phone rather than have degraded sound quality over bluetooth.

Sounds like you need to find some clues. Modern Bluetooth implementations are equal to an aux connection for audio transmissions.

Not as good on some cars...my 2010 Mini Cooper Mayfair isn't equipped with the Mini Connected head unit required. It does have the bluetooth phone calls setup. The minis with navigation also have Mini Connected as a part of it and should work with music from phone I believe. I'll ask the dealership near me and get back to you.

Yep, Bluetooth for music has historically sucked and for the most part continues to do so.

On my 2007 BMW it's flawless, and my 2014 Mercedes is also perfect.

No.. Its still considered "hands free" since no screen to look at while driving or texts to manually answer while driving. With this, I can press the button and do all the stuff I need to do with voice controls. . Kinda like having hands free built into the car, you still have to press the button on the radio...
