I need my backup though lol, so I'm just using /10.1.0.2009
And I'll wait till the next leak and hopefully that doesn't happen again

I've never been able to load an exe file OS (6, 7 or 10)onto a BB using a VM on my Mac. That's because the USB connection won't hold on a VM, I think due to the fact that the loading process takes place in an MS DOS environment within Windows, and the VM can't handle that. I even had to get Windows 8, which I don't like, so that I could put Boot Camp on my MacBook Pro Retina. There was no way to install my old Windows XP onto a newer Mac's Boot Camp.
Interesting, which VM software are you using? I've not tried an install under VM, but I'm surprised that you're having USB issues. Parallels has quite good peripheral port control.

I'm using a dual boot into Win 7, as I can't abide Win 8 either.

.1880 is just so solid for me. Normally I jump all over leaks but. 1880 is so solid, I'm pretty content with it.

1880 was solid for me too. Great battery life. So far 2342's battery drain is higher than expected, but to be honest, so was 1880 as a fresh install. After a day or two it settled in nicely and I think 2342 will as well. I'll give it a couple of days

Wow, this post defiantly got a lot attention. So OP what happens when the carriers release the actual version to anyone who has loaded the leaked version that we have been waiting for?

Didn't see this much action on the previous Storm and Torch BB phones I had.

Well, I got the keyboard sounds back after a reboot. Still have some contact issues with the texts, and it seems to have merged some of my contacts as well. Not sure if this was the OS or contact x that did this...

No this doesn't work, the RIM-sourced auto-loader kicks out after complaing its in a virtual machine. I won't trust any other autoloader that says otherwise...

Sent from my Nexus 7 using CB Forums mobile app
My friend used Win7 on BootCamp on his wife's iMac to load 2009, went smoothly.

That's sad news for me. Means I will have to wait for official or borrow a Windows machine. We only run Linux and osx in this house .... and windows virtually when needed.
If you have a copy of Windows 7 or 8 you can make a Boot Camp Windows partition on your Mac of minimum size just to run the BB OS loaders. And if you don't have the disks, or if your Mac has no DVD disc drive, I think that Windows can also be downloaded and saved on a USB Fat 32 formatted thumb drive of at least 8 GB size which can then be used to make a Windows Boot Camp partition.

    So far

Battery life is amazing but definitely jumpy when navigating menus.

    Back to 1880

    Posted via CB10
I've found battery life much worse than 1880 so far. It's just as smooth though when navigating. I'll give it another day before I go back to 1880.

This is what my screen looks like and I can only get 3G. I did do a restore through BB Link so I may need to do wipe. I'm on Rogers and I have LTE coverage but it won't seem to connect. I'll do a battery pull and report back.

So far, .2009's battery life is great. Installed yesterday afternoon about 3:00 PM, CDT. had a full charge at the time. Have been on the phone quite a bit today, and sitting at 67%. Not super heavy use, but a good amount all the same. .2009 is my best leak so far. I downloaded .2342, but have not installed yet. Might stick with .2009 for awhile.

Extract the EXE file from the compressed RAR file for the 1880 leak. Download and extract the HxD hex editor (should be able to find it using Google). Open the leak's autoloader EXE file in HxD and follow the directions posted to copy and paste the radio file into a new file. and save the new file with a new file name. Verify the file using the instructions.

Alternatively, use xsacha's tool when it becomes available.

So far so goo. Been about 6 hours on the 2342 and no issues that I'm aware of at the moment. Restored using the individual setting, instead of all. Worked fine. All the saved wifi networks, BBM channels (once Channels was installed) contacts, text messages, emails, all working.

The only problem that I see, is my computer shows up thru BB Link on the phone, but nothing happens when I try to access it. It work a couple of leaks ago, and not sure how to fix it. On the phone under Settings> Blackberry Link> there are 5 computers showing which all show "Desktop-####" Any ideas out there?

    Thanks

    Scott

I'm back to normal after security wipe. It appears that a autoloader wipe and secure wipe are on two different levels.

Im on ATT&T. Almost a day after install and all good except 3 things, but i notice them in every leak i tried
    1. After i restart my phone and go to contacts, i see a message that i need to add AT&T or any other contacts account. The message appear only once.
    2. Payment info showing an error
    3. Notification for updates or any system notification. I cannot change or mute the sound.

On ATT working fine. My contacts are NOT a mess anymore!!! I see that they made the personalization a bit better for the contacts; There is STILL no way for VERY important calls or texts to get through (my children) when the phone is on silent, or am I missing something? I had no idea that I would miss that feature the most on my 9900! sigh.
Are you using the AT&T Address Book? If so, how is it working?
