After installing the 10.2.1.1055 leak, I am missing the little BB icon in the top corner. Wifi works fine and i'm on the network, but BBM doesn't work. Any ideas? Already tried registering the BlackBerry again via Settings -> About -> Network.

hmm...I did have that intermittently with 1055 as well where it wasn't connecting to the NOC (not BIS ).

I would hit airplane mode on and then off again and it would be fine.

Though, I would advise that you just put the 1925 leak on...it fixes A LOT of bugs.

Sorry, yes, NOC. I was reliving the good ol' days.

Loaded up 1925 and it worked right away - thanks for the advice!

I'm confused about this... I purchased my BB10 devices outright, upgrading from a plan established with the purchase of a BB9800 Torch with 6 gigabytes BlackBerry data... and I see the BB icon at the top right of the screen, which I assume means I've got a BIS connection.

What role does BIS play in BB10? I thought it was redundant. I'm perfectly happy with my service and the performance of the device, but where can I learn more about the role that BIS plays on BB10 devices?

    Hello Ryan,

BB10 devices do not use BIS in any way, shape or form - BIS is used only by legacy devices. This is why you no longer need a "BlackBerry Plan" from your carrier for BB10 devices.

that is what I believe, so what does the BlackBerry icon on my screen between the Wifi and carrier signal strength bars mean?

That means you're connected to the BlackBerry NOC. Not BIS.
