I bought a 2nd Q10 as a spare, when it arrives I plan to wipe and load a leak. If I don't load the same OS should I avoid Switch and just set it up from scratch? I'm thinking it's like restoring after autoloader which I usually don't do.

If you don't do the same OS link will not let you restore to a higher OS, so I would set up like new. It's the best way always.

Device switch app doesn't work like BlackBerry link. It doesn't cause any problems as far as I know.
The problem with link is that it also brings your accounts and settings. Device switch only moves your contacts and basic info.

Ok thanks. I'll probably use switch, though with my contacts synced anyway I might not bother. Good to know it won't cause issues though.

Never tried a device switch to a lower OS, but they both move essentially the same data. I've had very few issues using a switch or restore, and when I did a slightly older backup didn't let me down.
