I recently moved about 50gb of photos and video to the cloud as a backup.

I can access everything easily from my PC or from the Android App on my Z30.

I am sad to say that access through File Manager on my Z30 is HORRIBLE.

Sometimes folders show up as inaccessible files.

Sometimes I get a never ending spinning circle when I try to open a folder.

When I can see content, it takes forever for pics to show up as thumbnails.

Why is the native experience so bad? Also, Android app works okay, but not as good as it does on my wife's Nexus 5.

This is one area where BlackBerry has to nail it.

This is on the latest 10.3 beta.

I agree with op. I use one drive and box and both are super slow to load. I don't even bother trying to look for photos on my z10 thru file manager with these cloud services because the majority of the time they either don't load or they take minutes to load a single picture.

Only thing I can come up with is the amount of data and how it's being processed by the native file mananger. I have 6.5GB on my Onedrive and it's just as fast as accessing the media card. It only bogs down when accessing my PC over RFA, which is what I'm basing my guess to your issue on.

It's good that it's working for you. It gives me hope.

Why would it work so much better with the Android App though?

I have this problem as well. I've noticed that when accessing a cloud folder usually more data = longer load times, if it loads at all. There are other native file browsers, and Android apps as you stated, that access the same data a little quicker, but I agree that this is something BlackBerry needs to put emphasis on for future updates.

Never mind. Now that I've joined this thread, my native file manager has contracted your Z30's bug.

Have you guys tried out the native app "PlayCloud". I've always used it to access Google Drive, but it can handle just about anything. It's been pretty good.

    Oh no.

Hopefully this is a known 10.3 issue that will be corrected upon release.

Does it work well on 10.2?

Oh that's a comforting to know I'm not the only one.

I always just assumed that it was due to the amount of data stored in the folder. it's nice to know it can be fixed.

Playcloud is still a little slow to access a folder but once it does, it populates pretty quickly.

I rather have this in File Manager but I'm okay for now.

I find all the cloud services slow to access via File Manager. Just populating picture thumbnails is a long task. RFA is FAST when over WiFi but can't speak for Network side. Also helps if hard disks are already spinning otherwise there is a 5+ second lag just for spin up then factor indexing... anyways, mumbling...

I agree that improvements are needed.

I reverted back to 10.2.1 on both Z30 and Z10. I use both Onedrive and Box on the Z30 and have no issue with browsing either via file manager, just the expected HSDPA carrier lag to populate the folder list.

Re-check this when 10.3.1 is a production release.

My one drive is slow to load as well in file manager but I have no problem with the one drive android app. Super quick on my Z30. I use that most all the time. I'm on 10.2.1.

I have a z30 and the 10.3.0.1154 leak installed and I use both Dropbox and One Drive for storing my pictures and videos. I haven't had any of the slow loading or folder issues they are talking about. Seems to work great on 10.3

Sorry if this is late but I happen to have this same issue today and what I did was to go to the one drive app on my z30 and sync again.
When It was done, I went back to the file manager and everything was in place again.

Man I love the Cloud Access! Works great for me. One of the big features I show non-BB users. Easily transfer files around between flash, card, One Drive, Box, Drop Box. Wish I could do it as easily with my computer. I'm on 10.3.0.1052/1154 mix.

Just throwing this out there. I powered up my iPhone 3gs and accessed my one drive on the app there and it loaded much faster than it does on my z10. Have to say it's sad that the 3gs can load it faster than my z10!

It already is that easy on a computer as long as you have the apps installed. It's as simple as selecting the files you want, control+x, open your onedrive, Dropbox, or box folder, control+v

I spent a few hours subdividing my folders to make them smaller. That helps a little but it is still really slow. The onedrive update from the other day didn't change anything as far as I can tell.
