When U asked for someone else to take a group photo, I always tell them to touch anywhere on the screen. And I liked how their disbelieve faces.

So are you saying you want a feature most of us don't want, so you can give your phone to somebody else to see a funny look on their face?!

But many also echos me when I say I prefer the same way (touch anywhere to take picture).
Not ridiculing anyone but saying thru my experience.
Why don't you slightly tone down on my post.
It's not ridiculing anyone but just stated my experience.
And I believe when I'm saying I love the current way of taking picture as a constructive comment in support of the way it is.

Touch anywhere to focus is much better. More professional. You are thinking in reverse.
Now you suggest getting rid of swipe? Oh please.

Trusted Member Genius on Verizon 10.3.0.296/442
Touch and hold anywhere will DO focus.
Releasing the finger will take the picture..
    Duh..

And btw, he's not suggesting but commenting in a cynical way. Read again.

I want the touch anywhere too. As well do many who have posted in this thread. For me, it's easier to take a pic, especially one handed w/o moving the phone.

As with any feature there will be some who love it and some who hate it. So again it would be cool if BlackBerry could work these as options in settings. Those who want "touch anywhere" to take pic toggle it on and those who prefer not, toggle it off.

????? Touch and hold will lock in focus but releasing finger doesn't take the picture. At least it doesn't on my phone. Never has. Otherwise I'd REALLY be irritated.

    You're doing it wrong. Lol.

Touch and hold ON the focus point will lock the focus.
Touch and hold ANYWHERE will focus and upon releasing your finger will take the picture.
    Try it.

It still focuses on the current focal point, not where the finger touches and holds. I never knew about this, but it would be way better if it refocused on the point that you touched and held and took the picture upon release.

Just move the focal point to where ever you wanted.. and then, let it auto focus and touch anywhere to take a picture.
    Easy..

Well I'm still doing it wrong b/c I touch and hold on focus point it does lock focus. Then I touch and hold anywhere else and release all that happens is focus locks at new spot

I agree there should be an option to allow it, so we can use it the way we like to. I personally like the touch everywhere option

    Guess what? I'm still ROTFL-ing..

I've been refreshing and replying in thus thread because I'm waiting for you to prove your lie.
Well, guess what? After your personal attack, I still have yet to see you prove your disorientation 'on other than your own device'.

Edit: oh, my bad.. all this while I thought you're using the same OS as mine but it seems you're on 10.3.0, just like moodyk's. No wonder your disorientation happens. You're on a leak OS.
And yes.. you are right. I'm not running the same OS as you are. My bad...

This is just one more unique feature of bb10 that they are removing because of whiners and complainers and people who are quite frankly just too stupid to figure it out or too unwilling to accept change.. shame.. this feature can live peacefully in its afterlife alongside the squircle, and the swipe up/down to answer calls

I didn't like swipe down to answer. It was too much for my brain to comprehend w/ the whole swipe up to do everything else. I found I kept swiping up to answer which ignored the call and sent to vm.

And I did like tap anywhere to take photo.

So I guess I fall into your stupid category.

It should be an option, but I personally prefer the new method. Selective Auto focus before was a pain!

The change to the new system also allows a smoother camera transition for iPhone and Android users.

I took a picture yesterday and I was still trying to use the click anywhere. I hate the new way with a passion, because I've grown so accustomed to how it was. I really don't think having the camera like iPhone or Android is going to win them any new users. It will make some existing users unhappy though. BlackBerry giveth, and BlackBerry taketh away.

I find it to be a differential point of BlackBerry 10 and a better point to. In 10.3 it is changed to be like others, which is bad in my opinion.

I absolutely prefer touching anywhere on the screen to take a picture. In JC's why I hate blackberry video (1st one, I think), he called that out as an advantage! I don't know why BlackBerry changed it. It was VERY convenient!

I do like the panoramic mode in 10.3, and I like the fact that you can switch between photo & video easier w/the icons, but they shouldn't be used for actually taking the pic or starting the recording!

Wow. I had no idea this was changing. My wife has hated my BlackBerry since forever. But she takes pictures with it a lot (her iPhone keeps dying huh...) and she always says "I love how I can touch anywhere to take a picture"

Why does BlackBerry think making their phones more like the others will help them survive. I mean, I guess those phones are dominating, but at some point why even exist as separate. Slippery slope I know, but still. This, and the white color theme on the menu bars are making me really NOT look forward to 10.3

And I for one hated the switch to the phone. Pull down /up was soooooo easy I cannot even fathom people not getting it. Plus, it gave me this huge, beautiful high res picture of my contacts on the screen. Much lamer now
