Instead of a Mac, you should buy a computer.

Yeah, try having a mac for years and then see if you can switch. I tried few months ago and after exchanging two PCs I went back to Mac. Windows 8.1 is not practical at all and I had few crashes in under two weeks on both PCs. I wish I can switch since PCs are a lot cheaper but man they are frustrating

Don't we have enough Stickies in like every thread? We have so many now, people don't even read them anymore.

windows 10 consumer preview jan 21st should be sweettt. So pumped for it.

the only thing i like on mac computers is it's calendar, reminder and mail app. Hopefully those get updated in win10.

as for win8.1 i agree, i downloaded programs to fix it to make it like win7.
    - Classic Shell for menus
    - ModernMix to put app shortcuts on screen and to put minimize, maximize and close on the apps at all times.

No I am not lucky. You my friend must have a realllllllly bad luck. My previous macbook crashed twice in 5 years and it was because I was tweaking and tinkering with terminal.

i've had very good success with using autoloaders and restoring full backups. imo, it is the next best thing to a non destructive update. i usually just have to re-load snap, update bbw apps, change my wallpaper, update customized contact notifications, and i'm g2g. i'm sure ymmv.
