    Hey all,

I was givin a z10 a while back that had a broken screen, so I replaced the screen and have a working unit on 10.3.0.908. As I'm a complete newb with BB, how do I, and what do I download, to get to 10.3.1.2267? This is STL100-3. Thanks for any pointers you can give.

I would wait until the official drop of the update for the "legacy" devices Z10 and Z30. Due sometime this month? Depending on carriers........
Or, you can load a leaked release, just do a search in here and you will find a few options.....

you can download one of the available auto loaders, but understand that you do so at your own risk.

Leaks may/do have issues, some feature missing/hobbled. Good tool for someone with some BB time under their belt. Perfectly acceptable for even "newbies", but you must be aware of possible issues.

Best wait for the official drop, that way you reduce the chance of "issues", unless you feel like a kid @ Christmas, and just gotta play.........

I was a newbie when I first got my Z10 but after reading the how tos for auto loaders it was very simple and I've been hooked on leaks ever since and without any issues!

Wait for 2 more days to spare some time and effort. Depending on your location and carrier delay you might install the official OS as an autoloader or via Sachesi if you want to be among the first to have it. Now, at the moment your potential leak would have settled in...the official OS would appear...so, 2 OS installations in 2 days?

Be advised - there is no guarantee that the official released will be available from your carrier in two days - the word is that BlackBerry will release them on the 19th to the carriers - but your carrier could hold on releasing for weeks or months.

So if you get tired of waiting, circle back to this thread so we can help you get started with installation of a leak. If you take the time to read the wealth of information on CB, ask questions first if you are in doubt about anything, and do things correctly - installing leaks is really not difficult at all.

You could start by reading this,

    http://forums.crackberry.com/showthread.php?t=927076

Then go to the leaks section in CB and pick the OS you want and read the thread a bit to see if there is any problems.

Thanks all....I originally upgraded this to 10.3.0.908 when I first got it....was a single exe I think and pretty easy. But the leaks for 10.3.1.2267 have an additional radio file, so i'm not sure if it's just as easy as running the first exe for my device, then the smaller radio exe after. Going to hold off a few more weeks and see what happens.

If you get an Autoloader, the EXE you mention, it's one file you download and run. It has everything in it, the OS, the radio, and the apps.
Be warned though that Autoloader will wipe your device, thus it is known as a destructive update. So make sure you have a good backup using BlackBerry Link first if you want to out things back the way they were.

If you want a non-destructive update, like an Over The Air (OTA) update from BlackBerry, you will need to use Sachesi and grab a copy of the OS/Radio/apps you want to install. The easiest and most fool proof route is a Blitz file as those have all the Radio and OS for different devices, including the apps which are universal, and Sachesi knows how to grab the correct OS and Radio files for your device.

Leaks are use at your own risk, regardless of the method you use to install them, so you are forewarned. That being said, the version you are looking to get is now a full official release, so you are probably pretty safe using it ahead of your carrier approving it.

    Good luck!

Personally I'd use the autoloader better to start with a clean phone and then restore it using Link (assuming you backed up your phone first)

Keep in mind that you can do a back up before autoloading but doesnt mean it will take back to where you started...example updating from 10.2.1 to 10.3.1, your back up will not work. It may put some or all of your apps back on, but if you want to go back to 10.2.1 etc you have to go through BB link under preferences at the top and restore it to factory/carrier latest updates.

Sometimes it sounds as simple as just clicking restore and its not.
