    Hey people,

I don't know if this is a burning issue for anyone else out there, but I pay Fido for a pretty lack luster version of VV because they are too lazy to make a decide app for BlackBerry users.

I believe it was beginning with the .2009 leak that VV appeared. I believe as long as you pay for the service, the leak OS will pull the voice mails out and stick them in the phone App, and TRY to integrate into the HUB. I didn't start playing with it until .2354 which I'm using now. But the HUB integration doesn't work after the first install of the OS. In my experience, even by rebooting the HUB with the finger swipes - but it does work....

Anyone have specific experience with different OS's, providers, plan, etc... ?

How is VV working for you?

Maybe we can gleam if peeps can get free or better VV services from leaks than providers.

    Cheers!

Running Z10 on .2354(1917 radio) with Fido and VV plan but no Fido app.

(noticed. 2062 said VV was in the thread, but didn't for me)

I'm on a Verizon Z10 STL100-4 running 10.1.0.2354 and have VVM running perfectly with hub integration. Had to subscribe to the feature with my Verizon plan for it to work though.

I just went to the 2354 leak myself HOPING it would resolve this. The original OS my att Z10-3 it worked GREAT and showed up in the hub. Since the 2342 leak I tried and now the 2354, it will show up under the phone app, under voicemail, but will not go to the hub either. Tried security wipes, backups, re-installing the new 2354 but nothing... any leads on this would be greatly appreciated.

Doesn't work for me in hub. I'm with AT&T and on 2354. Shows up in my phone app but the dropdown there is hit of miss, too. I'll flash a different version this weekend.

It is strange, Visual Voicemail has worked on the Z10 on Bell Mobility since day one (actually since before launch).

Guess Rogers was not doing something right on their end, or in their testing of BlackBerry 10. Visual Voicemail is fantastic on BlackBerry 10 - if your carrier offers it I recommend trying it out!

I've got a Q10 on ATT with the most recent update (not a leaked update) - VVM does not work (always says no msgs to view). ATT rep on the phone tried everything - nothing worked. Still no VVM for me after 12 days with the Q10.

    any ideas?

Seems to be happening a lot on 2354. I was fine before that. I just need to find time to flash a different leak to confirm.

Well I upped to 4543 from 2354 and I lost my VVM in the hub and the call app entirely, also all the saved vvm's in the call app list as well.

Interestingly..... i only lost these after I did a restart after restoring my settings, etc from back up. however... all vvm associated stuff wasn't present right after upgrading and before restoring from back up.

I wonder if it possible to pull vvm capability out of other leaks like the radio information to enable good functionality for all carriers.

Also... makes me wonder if the carrier download disables the built-in feature with the leaks. like UMA calling, tethering and hotspot suffered waaaaay back in the 7.0.xx days.

    Thoughts?

yep I recall that ATT wouldn't let my Playbook tether with my Torch. This reduced the playbook to a "thing sitting at home on the corner table next to the sofa," as it would work in a wifi setting only.

Can anybody with ATT tether a playbook to a Q10's connection? I didn't try yet.

I think bridge tethering is included in the higher up GB share plans. Otherwise, just use mobile hotspot?

I'm on ATT most recent official release (2030 I think). My voicemails show up in hub but they aren't typed out. I have to play them like an actual voicemail. Do I not have something turned on?

Just tried Kris new leak 10.2.0.483 followed instructions , went from 10.2.0.93 (WORKING) to the downloaded 10.2.0.341 (WORKING) , security wipe then the new leak and then VVM went away (NOT WORKING not even reg VM. tried calling VM , tried sending new one no go. Same deal broken for me like in 10.1.0.4543 and 10.1.0.4537 (Not Working) ... anybody found a fix? As far as I understand its a Rogers not supporting build issue ,please correct me if I am wrong . Just wanted to post my findings? I read 29 Pages of the post for the new leak and only found one ref to VVM and it said it was in the hub? Maybe for AT&T? EDIT - should have said I am on Rogers!

EDIT it works on 10.2.0.483 with Rogers send yourself a voice mail and then shut down and I did a batt pull and voila VVM love again!

I have always had unlimited data on ATT. They are blocking tethering, with the option to "register a device to add to my GB tethered to my phone for only $10 per month per device." What a crock.

If you delete the current bridge app on your device, then remove your SIM card, then redownload bridge(without your SIM card in the device), this somehow tricks app world into thinking you have a normal Z or Q and not the crippled version you get when you have an AT&T SIM in your device. Put your SIM back in and you will be able to use your mobile data from your device without needing to pay for tethering. I do this since getting my Z a couple months ago and has worked on every OS upgrade/downgrade I've done.

If you have a grandfathered unlimited plan on AT&T, you cannot add tethering to your plan and keep the unlimited data package. You are in essence changing your data plan, therefore they can take away the grandfathered data package. Its the way AT&T gets people off the ulimited plans without telling them.

yep that's what I have - a grandfathered plan from many years ago. I'm going to try the "pull the sim card - delete app - download new app - then re-insert the sim card" plan that was posted above. I'll let all know if the tethering works on the playbook -- its really the only chance my playbook has to remain relevant, as I'm stuck with ATT for the foreseeable future.

Anyone have any technical insight on how visual voicemail works in the first place?

Rogers (Fido) has two options.... get an MMS with the voice mail audio file attached. A sloppy way to support phones that approach the price of a POS car. And then they have proper "iphone" style VVM with an app that has the integrated feel we techies love.

Fido operators seem to give me conflicting information on what feature I'm paying for that I'm not actually getting. Because I dont even get the crappy messages. They only conflict on whether or not BlackBerry has a supported VVM app or not.

Anyone else have any experiences with Rogers VVM that seems to work like a magic 8-ball??

I lost all my VVM support with .4543 - much to my shagrin. But with the. 2xxx leaks I got app-like support built into the OS.

Does anyone know how the voicemail information is store from the incoming phone call, retrieved from the voicemail number, translated into text, sent in audio format, and loaded into the BB10 phone app/HUB or Roger's proprietary app, and finally how the OS/Rogers apps communicates notifications/forwarding/deletion??

'All seems like voodoo to me at the moment. Voodoo that some times works and consistently charges my $10 a month.

    Well....

    Tried the newest leak... 4633.

    No visual voice mail.

Not even the facade option like with 4543

Does anyone know if voice mail and visual voice mail use the same access phone number??

    On Fido, Vancouver

Also.... thinking very much that service provider software update at first install may be disabling this option for at least Fido

Updating my own thread... but oh well.

I tried going back down to. 2354 and got vvm back. Upgraded right away to .4633 and it was gone again. I was hoping some legacy would carry the functionality over.

I also took the time to look at the voicemail numbers and they are the same.

I guess it's time to learn how to pull os's apart and see what makes vvm possible on same leaks and not others.
